Upfront-Fixer theme just keeps "loading"

I am trying to add modify the Upfront-Fixer theme for the first time, but it just keeps "loading". It is 'thinkin'/moving, but will not progress beyond loading…now at about 5 minutes. I loaded and activated it, but I must have missed something.

I also used the Theme Tester, but I now deactivated that, just in case.

Now my old theme won't work either…no menu, etc.

    Hey there, Jay!

I had the exact same issue with Upfront after the last update, and I ended up resolving it by clearing my browser cache, is that something you’ve tried already, by chance?

If your previous theme isn’t loading either, can you try switching, just temporarily, to a default WordPress theme and see if you can get your site back? Or are you not able to access the backend of your site at all, either?

    Thanks!

So, this is worse on top of bad.

Now my site will not show up even in WP-2015 theme. I can see all the pages on the back end, but as you see in the pic, nothing on the front end.

I only have 5 plugins, but deactivating all of them and refreshing the page or deleting cache/history does nothing in either Firefox or IE.

HELLO ! It seems the more patient I am the less support I get.

    6 days and counting…..counting…counting…AND A TRASHED WEBSITE,

b/c I can’t get the Upfront themes to work. I know it is likely my fault, but I don’t know what to change, and you guys take A WEEK TO RESPOND TO THE SIMPLEST REQUESTS.

I HAVE REMOVED ALL PLUGINS (pretty much) and using only your theme and plugin so that you can give me clear answers.

You are encouraging dissatisfied and ‘squeaky wheels’.

    Hey there @Jay,

Sorry for the delay on this one :slight_frown:

Would you mind granting us temporary admin access so we can see this in action? You’ll find more information on how to do that by following this link:

You might also want to check the flowchart on this link: https://wpmudev.com/manuals/using-wpmu-dev/getting-support/, it contains standard troubleshooting flow so if you’re uncomfortable with any of these steps please let us know

    Hi, Jay!

So sorry for the delay here, two of our team members quit, and two are out on leave because they lost parents, so I’m trying to make sure everything is covered, and I’ve fallen behind.

404, or Page Not Found errors, like in your screenshot above, are almost always the result of needing a permalinks save, it’s a way of refreshing WordPress’s memory, so to speak, about where each of your pages is stored. I’m guessing that’s what got your site back?

I spoke with Sam, the dev, about the loading issue on your site. There appears to be something blocking the editor from loading, he’d like to have a closer look at your server settings if you won’t mind. Can you please send the following via secure contact form?

    Thanks so much!

Okay, I got it working…sort of.

I am able to get beyond the "Loading" screen.

I will bring up my difficulties with the theme in a separate post.

    Arggh ! It's back.

I was SOOO excited to see the update for Upfront, so tha I could finally get my site back up, and start using Protected Content for the first time in the many months since i bought it, but alas, it's stuck again.

A quick resolution will be appreciated.

    Hey there @Jay,

Sorry to hear you’re having issues with loading upfront again :slight_frown:

Thanks for extending access, I’ve checked your site and I’m seeing js error when trying to load upfront with all plugins deactivated. I’ve notified our developer so he can take a look at your site

We appreciate your patience on this one

    Best regards,

    Bojan

    Hey there @Jay,

The issue was related to your server configuration having problem with the upfront templates so the issue is not really specifically related to you. We are currently working on an update that should prevent that to happen in a future and our dev tweaked the theme on your end so you don’t have to wait for the update

    Have a great day!

    Cheers,

    Bojan

    Still waiting. No change….still loading.

I am growing accustomed to my website not functioning, and having no one purchase my online products.

Hey @Jay, really sorry for the delay on this! :slight_frown:

I’ve done a bit of poking on my end here (since Sam’s been really busy with things), and I was able to get the editor working on my end by inserting this at the end of your site’s .htaccess:

    ModPagespeed off

The problem we’re running into here is due to the PageSpeed module enabled on your server, but with inserting what I did, that’ll turn it off here, allowing the Upfront editor to work properly (as the PageSpeed module is interfering with a script required for the editor).

Could you confirm that it’s working properly on your end now please?

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

Yes, It’s working. You might understand my skepticism, though, since I don’t understand the powers at play, and since this thread began in early April.

How will this be prevented from happening in the future?

Hey @Jay, thanks for your patience!

How will this be prevented from happening in the future?

As we’re presently disabling the problematic component (that being the PageSpeed module) via your site’s .htaccess, unless either:

    (a) You remove the entry I mentioned in the future

    (b) An update to PageSpeed is made that changes the command for disabling it (not likely)

You shouldn’t run into any issues here, even with an update to Upfront.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael
