How do you keep to provide the best server performance?

I’m not totally sure these days, but it’s been said a lot that even users choose the same VPS plan, the server CPU may be different. What developers often do is to keep creating a server until they get the best out there.

How do you prevent this difference of servers upon generating a new client server through WPMUDEV? For example, Linode has dedicated CPU plan which should perform generally better than standard plans, but so far WPMUDEV hosting plans are based on standard servers considering the prices.

    Hello Takuya !

There’s many variables at play in this case, as it relates to both the hosting hardware and software.

For example, even if the CPUs differ a bit between hosts (not sure if that’s even the case with our provider, DigitalOcean), it’s not fully clear whether the software running on the host can take advantage of the CPU differences.

We currently don’t provide any specific details about the type of CPU used in our hosting plans, instead we use a more generic idea of vCPU without any added details about the actual hardware specifics.

From my experience with the hosting platform we use (DigitalOcean) it looks like there’s no measurable difference between the droplets, at least not when it comes to hosting WordPress sites, so I wouldn’t advise on creating multiple hosts to somehow get a more powerful one by chance.
