\nFor some sites, tags are hugely important. They\u2019re so important that simply having a tag cloud in the sidebar isn\u2019t enough. They require a whole page dedicated to the site\u2019s tags. In short, they need a WordPress Tag Page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking to make a page to display all your tags, then we have a few solutions for you. First up is a very simple and straight-forward plugin that will let you do that with a shortcode. Next is a more involved plugin that will give you more flexibility. And finally we will also show you how to create a tag page manually.<\/p>\n

1. Tags Page – DOWNLOAD<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n

This plugin will arrange your tags into columns. You simply create a Page for your tags and then insert the shortcode [get_tags]. <\/code><\/p>\n

Once your tag page has been created, there is also an option to automatically append a link to the page into the standard Tag Cloud widget.<\/p>\n

2. Better Tag Cloud \u2013 DOWNLOAD<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Better Tag Cloud plugin will give you a number of options for working with your tags, including the option to create a Tag Page with a shortcode. It includes a number of settings that will let you control the appearance of your tags, as well as which tags are included. In addition, it comes with a widget for a sidebar Tag Cloud.<\/p>\n

3. Create Your Own Tag Page<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Finally, you can create your own Tag Page by creating a special Page Template.<\/p>\n

Not long ago we went over how to create a Page Template<\/a> in detail. So you can see that post for more information.<\/p>\n

The way to create a Tag Page is to simply replace The Loop in your Page Template with the following code:<\/p>\n

We will briefly run through the process here, but again, you can see the more detailed tutorial on creating a Page Template here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nStep 1<\/strong> \u2013 Create a new Page template and name it something appropriate like tag-page.php.<\/p>\n
Step 2<\/strong> \u2013 Make it a template by giving it a template name like \u201cTag Page.\u201d Do this by putting the following at the TOP of your file:<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/strong> \u2013 Copy your default page.php file into the newly created template file UNDER the heading that you created in Step 1.<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/strong> \u2013 Replace The Loop with the following:<\/p>\n

NOTE: The call for The Loop may look very different in your theme.<\/p>\n

Save your page.
\nNote: If you like, you can just add code for the tag cloud (<?php wp_tag_cloud(‘number=0’); ?>) underneath the call for the The Loop. This will allow you to write something on the Tag Page in your editor above the tag cloud. Depending on your theme, however, you may run into a few problems with the layout of your different elements.<\/em><\/p>\n

Step 5<\/strong> \u2013 Create a new Page for your tag cloud and choose your new template. (You do not need to add any content to the page. The code you put in will insert your tags as the content.)<\/p>\n
