[Defender] Defender : The administrator has blocked your IP from accessing this website.

This morning the web site display : The administrator has blocked your IP from accessing this website.

nobody can access to the web site. I must delete the folder by FTP to access to the web site and to the admin. I tried to re install the plugin but there is always the same problem "Defender : The administrator has blocked your IP from accessing this website."

Could you please tell me:

– you’re referring to login, right? Or visiting the site in general (front-end)?

– if it’s only login does this apply to all the user accounts or just admin-role accounts?

– were there recently any changes made to the site, especially related to things like DNS changes, updates (to WP core or plugins/themes)?

In order to diagnose this I might also need to be able to enable/disable Defender via FTP, re-install it and probably check the database so I’d need a full access to the site/server. Would you be able to provide me with credentials?

The issue is on all web site front-office and back-office, i must deleted the defender folder to access on the website.

No recently update before the issue ( the issue became today)

I have send the FTP information by the contact form, do you recieved it ?

I’m afraid that I don’t see any recent emails attached to your account, can you try sending it again?

Please reply here once it’s sent so we can check if it was sent now or we will need to take a different approach.

Also, you can try adding this code as mu-plugin and that should whitelist your admin account IP:

Simply navigate to wp-content/mu-plugins/ folder and create defender_admin_whitelist.php file in there and add the code inside it.

If you don’t have mu-plugins folder on your server then simply create it yourself in the said location.
