How do I allow visitors of the site to add, edit and delete

How do I allow visitors of the site to add, edit and delete events from the frontend when using this plugin? Thanks.

Hope you’re doing well today :slight_smile:

You need to go to Events > Settings > Add-ons tab and enable “Front-page editing” add-on.

Then create new page with this shortcode [eab_event_editor] and select it as your front editing page by going to Events > Settings > Front-page editing and that should be it.

Yes, but what is the “Save” button to save a new entry from the front end?

Also, how do we get unregistered wordpress user, it just appear as a blank page. How do we prompt the user to register?

I’m not sure if I understand you correctly. There should be a “Publish”/”Save” button available for those users that are allowed to add/publish events. It’s possible that you may need to grant capabilities to user-roles first and to do this please enable the “Capabilities” add on on “Events -> Settings -> Add-ons” page and then:

– go to “Events -> Settings -> Events capabilities”

– select WP user role and tick checkboxes according to what capabilities would you like to grant to that role

– repeat above step for other WP user roles.

As for registration. If a user is not logged-in the front-end editor doesn’t show up indeed. You could however use a short code snippet to display login/logout link on the same page. See below please:

To use it on your site:

– create an empty file with a .php extension (e.g. “login-logout-shortcode.php”:wink:

– paste above code into the file

– upload the file to your server to the “/wp-content/mu-plugins” folder (if there’s no “mu-plugins” folder inside “/wp-content” just create it)

– add following shortcode to the same page where the Events front end shortcode is:

[login-logout-link]

This will show “login” link to not logged in users and a logout link to the logged in users. After logging in user should be redirected back to the same page. User will be able to create account on a wp-login.php page if he/she doesn’t have one yet.
