My Logo Isn't Working in Magazine Theme

When I upload my logo, the rest of the page disappears so that the logo is on the page on its own with no other content.

Any advice on sorting this out would be much appreciated!

@damianedwards: In order to get to what is going on can you please provide a link to see your site. Could you also let me know what version of wordpress or wordpress mu you are using and if you are using buddypress or not.

Hi Tammie,

the website is at http://4.biz. I have taken the logo off, otherwise there is nothing to see other than the logo!

I am using WordPress MU 2.9.2, and using Buddypress with the theme ‘Magazine’.

@damienedwards: I assume when you add a logo you are either selecting square or image yes from the settings and linking in a logo from the media library? If not that is how you add a logo. Assuming you are doing that please make sure the image is not a really large size as that could be the issue. Can you link the image you are trying to link up please.

Hi Tammie, I am trying to add the logo in the admin section where it says ‘Upload a Logo’ there I am using this logo:http://4.biz/files/2010/04/4bizlogo.png. It isn’t a big file as it is just a .png, so I am confused as to what the problem is?

@damianedwards: Are you adding it in appearance > theme options > styling settings as all that requires you to do is link the file there is on upload and it doesn't say upload a logo here. Are you perhaps using a plugin or somewhere not in the theme?

This is the text where you should put your path:

*you can upload your image in media panel and paste the url here.
```

Sorry, yes that is where I am adding the URL of the logo, but it is not working correctly.

@damianedwards: Do you have default.css selected as your preset style? If I have that and do the steps as outlined in these screenshots I have it working you see – I've included a screenshot of it working for me. Have you changed any css at all as with the default css with no edits as you can see it works for me. Perhaps you could try removing any plugins apart from buddypress also incase something is causing an issue as you can see I can't replicate.

Yes default.css is set as our preset style, and we have not changed any css at all, and we have no plug-ins installed. I wonder if it is in any way related to the fact that we also have no log-in bar at the top of the page as you seem to have on the screenshot?

@damianedwards: just to check what version of Magazine are you using and what version of BuddyPress? You say you have no plugins installed I assume you have buddypress installed?

Also can you try configuring a slideshow category or turning off the slideshow if not using please as I see you’ve just left that unconfigured without turning it off.

I tried deactivating the slideshow but that did not work.

Here you can see which theme versions we are running – perhaps some of these should or shouldn’t be activated?

@damianedwards: have you tried linking up the slideshow to a category? I’m rather puzzled by this please can you add the image so I can see I’ll keep an eye out here to see when you update so it’s not up too long.

Hi Tammie,

The slideshow is linked to a category, although that has stopped working for some reason when it was working yesterday – but the logo still didnt work even then.

I have added the logo so you can see what is happening.

@damianedwards: Ah ok so it’s not filling the whole page it’s somehow causing an error therefore that’s why it’s not showing the rest of the page. That’s a little bit different. Are you able to come into the live chat part of this site please as I can work with you there.
