"Page could not be found" when making child theme of edu-clean

I am trying to make a child theme of edu-blogs, this is what I have done;

1. Created a new folder in /themes

2. Added a file style.css

Theme Name: SkolbloggenNew
Description: Nya Skolbloggen.se
Author: Måns
Template: edu-clean

(optional values you can add: Theme URI, Author URI, Version)

@import url("../edu-clean/style.css");

3. Added a file function.php

/* Ta bort BuddyPress standard meny så att WP meny används istället */
function remove_bp_adminbar(){
remove_action( 'wp_footer', 'bp_core_admin_bar', 8 );
remove_action( 'admin_footer', 'bp_core_admin_bar');

/* Addera menyval för ByddyPress */
function admin_bar_add_this(){
global $wp_admin_bar;
$newcat=get_site_url( BP_ROOT_BLOG ).'/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category';
$wp_admin_bar->add_node( array(
'parent' => 'my-account',
'title' => 'Inkorgen',
'href' => $newcat) );

Thats it. When I load the first page a page is displayed, but it is saying “Page could not be found” in title.

If I add “index.php” into my child-theme folder, that file seems to be ignored.

I had a guy making the previous theme my WP installation used, it was custom developed from the bottom up, so I am beginning to think there are some sort of special-thing going on here since my index page is ignored, and I am getting this error.

The site url if you want to see it is http://skolbloggen.se

Anyone have an idea what could be going on?
