Seem to have lost your reply on this. Also your site does not seem to have stored my recent question. Here is a page I set up with plugin when you visit the inital page it looks ok

That URL is correct.

Here are the settings I have in admin

URL to encode: nothing in here as i do not know what to put in here there is no documentation on this. Even the screen shots in your documentation do not show this field perhaps they need updating.

If you add a “&whmcsportal[debug]=true” to your url the plugin will return a dump of what it’s processing from WHMCS. What I’m getting is

“Character encoding is incorrect on this page.

Cannot parse it properly.”

Pages should be UTF-8 encoded with NO BOM mark.

There are also a number of HTML errors on that page, like a pair of table tags with no tr, td or th tags in it. text is put in with divs.

We’re pretty strict about what gets passed here because it’s a great chance for injection attacks.

I have the same exact issue and think the reason this NOW occurs is due to the wordpress js library upgrade – everything worked great up until I upgraded to latest version of wordpress – then my nav broke while this plugin was active + I got the same error you described above (even after I rolled back the wordpress to previous version).

This could all easily be corrected by allowing the admin to select the source of js like the other whmcs bridge plugin does (which also worked fine prior to wordpress upgrade but broke my nav after upgrade until I selected the other js option).

I build plugins and to resolve all 100% js conflicts I added the option below the wysiwyg editor to add custom header/footer code so that you can remove any possible conflicts on the pages that call our plugin.

Hi @webin That’s interesting and I’ll see if that might help on some other pages.

But the specific page that he’s referring to in WHMCS doesn’t use javascript for anything. WordPress does and the wordpress jQuery is loaded but the WHMCS page doesn’t call any of it nor loads jquery in our case.

The page that produces the error “Sorry this doesn’t look like a WHMCS site at ” is only happening (for me) when someone goes to the whmcs via the plugin to sign up to purchase our software – I had to redirect my new customers to use the actual whmcs path to get around that (thus proving its not an whmcs issue) – and we only got that error after the new wordpress upgrade – so that tells me that its all related to the new wordpress js version upgrade that they did

If you’re interested in live bug testing this I can give you access to my site – I guess in the mean time I’m just going to do what I used to have to always do and just take my wordpress (html source output) and template that into my whmcs.

Url to encode is just a utility so you can encode stand alone product links like Direct Shopping Cart Link. Those found on the Links tab on a product definition.

You don’t have to set it to anything.

The error itself tells you there is an issue

Yes there’s a issue but it’s coming from the WHMCS site. The plugin calls your WHMCS site and pulls the content of the page there that you want . It then tries to parse the page. In this case the page is encoded wrong and has bad HTML. If you run the WHMCS page direct through W3VAlidate

You can see the list of errors.

The errors mess up the parsing which leads to the overall failure. You need to look at why the Knowledgebase pages are returning such bad code. I don’t see that on WHMCS in a normal install.

There have been ABSOLUTELY NO changes to our installation other than replacing a png logo.

I even enabled their portal skin and uploaded it fresh as per your mod instructions.

We are also running the latest version

What is more it is not just the knowledge base link that is defective.

If i try to go to client area the login box loads within wordpress but as soon as I click login I am taken to the WHMCS installation itself.

If I try to submit a ticket same thing.

If I Click domain checker I get the error

Furthermore I can not even access the knowledgebase.php as it is encoded by WHMCS

So how am I meant to get this working?

I have just re-uploaded WHMCS replacing ALL files to the latest version (apart from config file of course)

These validation errors still exist so you are telling me this is an issue with WHMCS

I contact them and they will say we visited your installation it works just fine….which it does.

Further research we backed up the database for our knowledge base then we removed ALL data from the tables.

This did allow us to see the empty page within WP however validation errors were still shown at http://validator.w3.org/ they are shown below.

This however did not fix the issue that when we try to log in as a client from within wordpress we get redirected to the whmcs installation the client home page does not remain within wordpress.

It seems that your plugin is going to be too strict to use, so one of our staff makes a tiny error in their html in the knowledgebase and there are errors on our site when a client needs support. This is not worth the risk.

Again our WHMCS is BANG up to date with the latest version THEIR scripting not ours and your plug in does not work. This plugin was one of the main reasons I joined may have to re-evaluate that membership if we just get left hanging when we have an issue with one of your plugins.

Error also still appearing when we try to access domain checker from whmcs.

Just tried a free version of a competitors plugin and it works perfectly for ALL functions.

One thing I did notice that in the settings for their plugin it offers these options

jQuery library: None, WHMCS, WordPress

Load WHMCS style:

Select if you want to load the WHMCS style.css style sheet.

Load WHMCS invoice style:

Select if you want to load the WHMCS invoicestyle.css style sheet.

Hate to say It I think I will use the competitor plugin until you guys get this working correctly.

I notice that part of the problem is that your running WHMCS in https: and your setting in the plugin is http: The settings in WHMCS > General > System Url and Remote Host in the plugin must match exactly.

But I’m still getting bad HTML from your WHMCS.

The validation URL gave you above goes DIRECTLY to your WHMCS site. the Integration plugin in isn’t being used at all. Here it is again.

Note it’s calling directly to your /support/knowledgebase.php which is direct WHMCS.

Maybe WHMCS has started turning out broken HTML. Seems kind of tacky for WHMCS to turn out non-validating HTML in this day and age.

Also if you look at the headers in your pages. If you go to a WHMCS page and look at the meta header, WHMCS gives

```
Your WordPress pages give

<meta charset="UTF-8" />
```
So there is the encoding problem.

Look in your WHMCS > Setup > General > Localisation tab and set the system Charset to “utf-8”. That should fix the encoding problem.

See what happens after those changes.

I will remove ALL the data from the database for KB and you will see there are STILL validation errors

Set to UTF 8 I even disabled SSL in whmcs temporarily same erros. If you are around for a few minutes let me know…I will empty the knowledgebase tables so that you can be sure it is not content we have added causing the issues

With UTF8 set whmcs doesnt validate at all at your site above. This is a lot of hassle for an installation that works perfectly well as a standalone

Got this going in the end, however to have it working correctly because it is overly strict would mean re-doing a knowledge base that has been YEARS in the making.

In addition because you can not specify to use the whmcs styling for the content registration forms are messed up.

In addition we would have to change the look of our cart because your plug in does not like the display version we have chosen.

Wasted a day on this this plug in has a LONG way to go to be useable.
