Can you confirm if Smartcrawl can only be used as a plugin for our main site in the multisite network?
I have tried following the instructions on https://wpmudev.com/blog/wordpress-multisite-masterclass-activation-configuration/
It does say on there “There are some plugins that can only be network enabled” which might be why I can’t get it working on just my main site?
