Support System – FAQ categories dont save

Hi !

Well, as in classifieds, the categories dont want to save. Nore for faq’s or tickets.

So… impossible to create categories at the moment :slight_smile:

I precise that all tables seem to have been created

(there is no sql.txt in the package in case of…:wink:

can you give some examples of categories that you are trying to create? just wondering if the names would be an issue.

It looks like there may be a bug in this latest edition. I’ll have the developers take a look and get an update out quickly if needed.

@Aphrodite we are unable to reproduce the issue. One other hunch is there is already another category with the same name.

Can you verify whether the tables are created, from your post I believe they are created.

well there is just 2 table. Since there is no sql file I supposed that was the tables :

wp_support_faq and wp_support_tickets plus wp_support_tickets_messages

mmm also the strings “low, medium, elevated” etc are not in the file,, as the “general questions” default cat. :wink:

also the tickets mentioned date format is correct but the months name remain in english Oo how that is possible ?

well i installed the last version given in this thread, and DEACTIVATED and REACTIVATED it and just works out.

the rest is just translation problems.

I’m having the same problem. =/ I replaced that pot file too, and deactivated/reactivated, but I’m not able to add categories. :l Anyone can dumb it down for me?

I discovered some problems, fixed it myself.

1. Typo on installation instructions. Should be support_faq, support_faq_cats, support_tickets etc instead of system_

add_global_table(‘ust’:wink:;

add_global_table(‘system_faq’:wink:;

add_global_table(‘system_faq_cats’:wink:;

add_global_table(‘system_tickets’:wink:;

add_global_table(‘system_tickets_cats’:wink:;

add_global_table(‘system_tickets_messages’:wink:;

2. the tables with the _cats didn’t create so have to create manually inside the global tables.

fixed for me. still testing the rest.

You don’t need the POT file, you only need incsub-support-1.5.7a1.zip to be installed, deactivated and activated.

Well have already gave you the error message on saving the po file.

And some strings are not included (gerneral questions, priority terms : low, medium, elevate, critical,)

Can you please try the attached POT file? If it doesn’t help can you please post the PO file here. Do not forget to upgrade to 1.5.7 as well, it adds missing phrases. Thanks :slight_smile:

"Plural-Forms: nplurals=INTEGER; plural=EXPRESSION;n" is changed to

"Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1);n"

huh no it does not yet completly. I translated the strings (stil remain the “general questions ^^) but they do not apply Oo (priority levels)

And if I try to update from sources, poedit suppress almost the half of the strings .

Nevertheless no error in the pot file, just all strings dont apply, as if all strings were not “gettextified”…. (something I cannot really control myself….yet….)

Well, the issue is not blocking the plugin works fine, but I really ‘d like to have it all correctly translated and publish the translation…

ok found the problem.

There are 3 different keywods in the soruce for gettext :

_ngettext

There are still 9 stings that are correctly in pot file, correctly “gettextified” in the source but curiously not applyed in the translation

I added the keyword in poedit he found all strings but the translation does not yet apply.

Oh by the way. I see the support menu in super admin. Isn’it possible, as in Moderation plugin, to add non admin users as support members ?

I think you have a header missing in the PO file. Please set the Plural-forms header to nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1); and save the PO file and then update/compile the MO file. It works for me.

I’ll add the mail strings and adding the ability to have non super admin as support members in an upcoming release. Thanks for the suggestions :slight_smile:

I can’t see anything wrong with the headers. Only other question is did you update/compile the mo file with the changes? If nothing helps, can you please post both po and mo files for me to have a look

What do you mean by suppress archived tickets? They are not visible in the default view, you need to click on Archived Tickets to view.

well in the admin section, keeping archived ticket is good but not for years ! there is no option to delete them.

Oh last thing, is it possible to change the “incsub support” slug for “support” it is a bit confusing…

You can upload to drop box or paste on paste bin (of your choice).

There is no way to change the slug without editing plugin files. Slug is defined in incsub-support.php on line 265. Changing it will have cascading effects, so test and change any other occurrences of the slug. Changing the slug is not recommended.

Slug is a very low priority issue, it doesn’t affect the functionality at all. You will probably have to modify it your self if you must.

@anisjournal, where did you place the plugin files? They should be placed in wp-content/plugins and activated network wide.

@Mohanjith, yes it is on that folder. while saving the new category, it seems to be created and refresh the page but it isn’t.

other tables are empty. is there any difference using myisam or innodb? some my wpmu dev plugins were created using both innodb and myisam.

You forgot to post the last records from wp_support_tickets_messages and wp_support_tickets. I believe you do see the categories and you can add categories without an issue.

both table contains no records. i tried 1.5.9 but no luck.

i did clear the cache after installation.

Doesn’t look like you missed anything. You could try from scratch. If the issue persists please try on a publicly accessible server (then we could have a look what’s causing the issue).
