[The Hub Client] Invoice Number Format Prefix per Stripe Customers

0

In Stripe you can set Invoice prefixes on the customer page which can be a 3 letter identifier and then the Invoice Number follows, would be great to have that kind of dynamic structure instead of simple Invoice Number Format setting option you have right now

    Hi Marcel Darvas

I hope you are doing good today.

We have future plans for the “Prefix” part and we still consider many options there, like for example dynamic years. As for now, the only dynamic part is the “Next Invoice Number”. I pinged our developers what is the status of this and what kind of features we plan for the Prefix field. We will post an update here as soon as more information is available.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

    Hey Marcel Darvas

So what sort of dynamic prefix do you usually use? Is it a 3 letter prefix of the customer’s initials? Could you please share an example of how you’d set up the invoice format if we had the option to set up invoices prefix dynamically for each client? This would help us figure out the best way to build this feature.

So the best would be to just follow the way Stripe Invoicing allows us to do it, which is best shown in the attached screenshot.
Each customer/brand we have, we pick a Short Identifier. For a an example here, I picked “Shark Construction”, so we would take something like SHRK- as the prefix and would set the ID number, based on how many invoices we sent out to that client via whichever billing system… (usually depends if it’s project-based work or a subscription or multiple subscriptions we are trying to sync up)

I haven’t created a subscription invoice via your new feature yet, but it would be nice to have a deeper integration with Stripe Invoicing & their customer portal feature, which is shown here:
    https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/integrating-customer-portal

Another cool service that has this functionality already would be the following:
