Checkout display error

I have MP installed on a single site, fully up-to-date. The shopping cart seems to work OK as a sidebar widget but the checkout spreads over a wider area and with the Checkout Now button being moved to within the main area.

I haven’t set the gateways up yet – just selected manual payment and Paypal but I wouldn’t have thought that would make a lot of different. The theme is gogotheme’s Corporate and the site is f2khealthandfitness.com – go to Shop and select a couple of items say from the Run Products drop-down and go to checkout.

Can you see what is going wrong? Is there something not set?

Ah this is a browser problem, or a css problem at least. I was using Firefox 3.6.3 on XP or 3.6.17 on Kubuntu 8.04. and it puts the checkout in the sidebar rather than in the main post area. It appears OK on IE of all things and also behaves in Chrome and Opera. Now the big question is of course, is it the theme or MP that leads to the errant coding.

My feeling is that MP is actually at least partly the culprit but it needs fixing anyway.

Thanks David. I guess it is an unclosed <div> or something that the different browsers interpret in different ways… There is also an theme problem where the last entry in the menu has a drop down – the last drop-down entry is in reverse video.

I had a look but this really is your theme causing the problem. Can you perhaps try using Twenty-Ten as we can see no issue with it and that’s our ‘baseline’ for if it works or not. I say try as in so you can see it works and is your theme.

Unfortunately as it’s your theme we’re a little lost with a fix. I do think it’s an extra div but that will require investigation on your behalf. That or it could be the your width on that div / table. Ultimately it’s going to require you going into your code / CSS and adjusting things.

Thanks for looking at this folks. I have posted a message to Christian at Gogo Themes – I also note the misalignment and in fact there is a problem on the last dropdown that is ‘solved’ by ensuring that the last menu is not a dropdown!

I’ll mark this as closed for now anyway.
