Bug – cannot display text in header, regardless of settings

Hey,

Changing the Display Text box in the Custom Header settings in bp-daily doesn't have any impact. Furthermore, it adds a weird extra image that doesn't load.

In the screenshot you can see how it displays with default background image and display text set to "Yes".

The code relating to the extra image is:

I've taken it out in my child theme, but this bit needs fixing.

    Daily uses 2 methods on headers:

    1. Custom header (this becomes a background image to the site) – text you enter here is also set to not show.

    2. Header in theme options – this is your logo

    That’s the issue here not a bug more a misunderstanding of what it does right now.

    To clear this up however some text changes could help so that will be looked at for next version. Also we will look at the text showing or some method of making sure it doesn’t show as option if shouldn’t show. Either way we’re going to clarify to make this clear for users, thank you for pointing this out to us.

    If you just want the custom header NO other headers / images make sure in theme options you have use custom header turned OFF. It basically will look for one if that is on.

    Yeh, I did work out the two settings, but it could be an awful lot clearer text wise – partly because one assumes all the header settings will be under “Header”

    How about moving all the “Header settings” into the “Header” section, rather than in “Theme Options”, or vice versa?

    Sounds like Tammie is gonna add something like that in the next version, yeah. I’m sure she’ll come up with something that works!

    Hi Phil,

    Any idea of when Tammy might be able to fix this/have a working verison of this template?

    Chris is talking about creating a custom template, which would be a money spent which could be spent elsewhere. Plus may lead to other complication down the line. The attraction of your plugins was that was the complete package.

    Are any of your Buddypress templates working so that one can just install them without fixing anything?
