Notice: add_custom_image_header is deprecated since version 3.4!

Hi, I just installed The Daily on a development site and at the top of my Admin screen I see this notice:

Notice: add_custom_image_header is deprecated since version 3.4! Use add_theme_support( ‘custom-header’, $args ) instead. in /var/www/vhosts/new.intug.org/httpdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2638

On the download page it says this theme is compatible with WP 3.4.2, so I don’t see any reason to go back to 3.3.

Thanks,

Felix

    Hello there Felix!

    Welcome to the community!

I did the same and installed the Daily Theme in one of my sandbox sites and was not able to see the same error. I used the WPMUDEV Dashboard to install.

i also deleted the theme and re-installed via the Appearance tab, and found no issues on install or activation from that method.

How did you install the theme? Are you having any issues with it’s performance?

    Best,

    Hi Kimberly,

I’ve been busy with other stuff so it took a while before I could try things.

I installed via Appearance initially. But somehow I could not customize the theme, links were unresponsive. Also, I could not de-install or delete themes anymore. So I took it the rough way through ftp. Then I tried a re-install though the Dashboard, to no avail. So I suspected there was something wrong elsewhere and re-installed WP. That did it: I can now set theme options!

    Thanks for your help.

    Felix
