Pro Site Force Upgrade

I don’t want to offer a Free Blog or Trial option. I want the user to select a Pro / Premium package on sign up.

Is this possible?

Many thanks.

    Greetings simonben,

Thank you for this great question and a significant item to bring up.

The suggestion successfulgeek is giving is spot on and yes it allows them to create a blog – one they cannot access until the pay to play.

I have been through this many times and the answer is the same – the member must create a blog/site first so that the system knows which blog/site to actually upgrade, it is the same in any event with or without Pay to Blog activated, yes even free blogs/sites.

However, it may indeed be possible for members to be redirected to a screen that shows the upgrades instead of one simply saying they must pay.

Could you please give me a URL to test this out if indeed this is something/an idea you would like to pursue?

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

    Thanks Joe,

What I want to be able to do (If possible) is showcase my own (and others) themes that can be purchased for customisation on a ‘buy now’ button that links to the sign up page with that theme auto-selected.

The ‘Blog Templates’ plugin almost does it and I’m sure could be adapted to do the job. What do you think?…

Don’t pay too much attention to prices or the details on the site, it’s very much a work in progress!

Any help or input you can offer will be most appreciated.

I love the idea and anything is indeed possible when one is a competent coder with a vision and the will to get the job done – and I am not a coder.

I totally agree that it is possible but revert back to my coder statement above.

I did visit the page you suggested and I do like it clean look – great job on that.

This is clearly in the realm of custom coding which is beyond the scope of the support we provide here.

Alternatively, you could see if there’s a developer available at wpmu jobs who could get onto it right this minute

Or you could always approach someone like Tweaky

Sorry that I am not a coder myself or I would certainly bid the job.

    Cheers, Joe
