Blog Templates: Header Image chosen from Media Library doesn't show up

Hi,

I have a problem with setting up a new header image on website generated from template. I will try to describe it step by step:

1. I created a website with theme 20-12 , added a 3 pictures into media library and set up a image header. The website url is “mytemplate.mydomain.com”.

2. I set a blog template with above created website with presets ( WordPress Settings, Current Theme, and Active Plugins, Posts and Pages,

Categories, Tags, and Links, Files).

3. From this template I created new website with url “webmytemplate.mydomain.com”, so I’ve got exact a copy of above website, also with the files(pictures) in media library.

4. Now on the new created website I try to set up a new header image (theme settings) from media library. After choosing an image from media library, cropping and saving, the image doesn’t appear.

5. With firebug I figured out that the url of the selected image is wrong and comes from original template website, the image-url is

"http://mytemplate.getfruittree.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/28/2013/02/image.jpg" - original template website url

and should be

"http://webmytemplate.getfruittree.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/28/2013/02/image.jpg" - new website created from template

How can I solve this problem? I have no problems with featured image option and inserting into posts images from media library (images copied from template). Even under “media library” the thumbnails has a correct url. There is only a problem with header image inserted from image library and pictures that were already in original template blog/website.

Thanks,

Damian

    Greetings Damian,

Thank you for the great question.

Please post the URL to the template site and possibly we will need admin log in (do not post that here) to check out the template itself unless you can perhaps copy and paste the code to the template here.

This is indeed custom coding but as you can see we are trying to help anyway on this occasion.

    Please advise

    Cheers, Joe

    Hi Joe,

thank you for the fast response. I think it’s a bug of the plugin “New Blog Templates”.

The websites created/generated from the blog template (together with its files/pictures) has a problem with displaying a “header image” picture chosen from media library (pictures were copied from the “blog template” website). I tested with few different themes, so I suppose it’s not a theme issue. I can prepare a screencast, if my description is not clear enough or send the admin login data. Where should I post my access data?

    Thanks,

    Damian

    Greetings Damian,

Thank you for the additional input and I do declare that in your last post you were quite clear on what the issue is giving us enough to go on at this time to do some thorough testing trying to replicate the issue.

Mean while is you could be so kind to provide that screen cast it would be ace and absolutely appreciated.

I want to duplicate the issue to the “T” before calling in the lead developer and claiming a bug.

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

I experienced the exact same issue where the subsites were calling media files from the main blog URL. Even subsequent images uploaded directly into the subsite. I sent about a week between WordPress and my host and both parties said it wasnt an issue arising from their end.. I will keep following this for future reference..

    Greetings Damian,

That is really great stuff there and thank you so very much for the screen cast and the screen shot! Fantastical!

At this point though I understand what you are pointing out and can clearly see it – I am wondering if this is indeed the intended behavior considering that the graphic has to be taken form somewhere and it cannot be taken from a place that does not yet exist i.e. the new blog/site.

The only way I could see this working is if the new blog template somehow copied the graphics to the new blog and changed the URL to address the new location/URL

Being that I am not a coder I will see if I can get the lead developer in here with his invaluable insight into this plugin for his advice/advise for us.

Though this may take a bit longer then a normal ticket, I will try to get him in here asap.

    Cheers, Joe
