How to Make the Title Match the "URL to be Liked" on the Pay with a Like Plugin

When an article is liked to be viewed I want them to share this link: http://thepageantplanet.com/how-to-lose-2-around-your-waist-in-a-week on their social media instead of the article they are viewing.

It’s sharing the URL but keeping the title the same. How can I make the title match the URL?

    hi @steven_roddy_ii

    thanks for posting.

    Could you post a screenshot?

do you have any URL entered in the URL to be liked field in the settings > social button settings. I think that's what you need.

    hope this helps.

    thanks.

    Hi @steven_roddy_ii,

I’m very sorry we never got back to you here. Would you happen to mean the title that is generated when you actually go to share the link on Facebook? This title is generated by facebook checking the link itself and looking for meta tags. If it doesn’t find any, it will use the site title.

Ultimate Facebook actually generates these tags for you. They can be customized per post from the post editor, but the title will default to the post title.

With recent updates to the facebook API and our Ultimate Facebook plugin, this feature has actually changed a bit and in the latest version it will now use the “send” button instead of share.

Again, we’re very sorry that we didn’t get back to you about this. I’ve reactivated your account if you’d like to continue working to get this resolved, and you can also download the latest version of the plugin.

    Best regards,
