Doesnt appear to be Buddypress friendly?

Ultimate Facebook also post everyones buddypress updates to our Fan SIte as if we posted them,

Is there a way to just make it post our post on Facebook, but not all our members?

Thanks for your post on the forums CouldNet PC Admin.

Did @dapadoo suggestion help you fix the activity updates ?

I don’t mind it posting everyone post, but I need the plugin to identify who it’s coming from.

Well the posts is made via your facebook application so it will not tell whom its coming from.

For the like box which is cut, can you kindly give me a link to your site so that I can see that in action ?

    Cheers

dapadoo – thanks for that tip I stumbled upon it before I had time to read this, and tested it out and it did do the trick, However I think maybe there might be an upside to actually letting it post everyone’s post with their nickname attached, I think there might be some value in that. Something to think about!

PC – is it not possible to query the posters name and pass it along with the message? As i Was saying to dapadoo it might be good option to add.

Sorry for not posting the site URL: http://www.mypcangel.com I poked around the php/css for a bit but I couldn’t track down the culprit.

I was also wondering if it was possible to have my post to Facebook via Facebook Activity Plus have the images I post in the body of the Facebook post, and not in the link area. I want the post to stand out and images clearly get more hits than links? All my post are usually in image form because I’m an artist so I just like to work with my tools and produce images, but I loose tons of traffic when I can’t or don’t post my images in full size. I looked all over the place for a plugin that would allow this, but I’ve found notching that can do this. I want to be able to just work on my site, and have it spread around my artwork without me having to do it manually for everything I create.

    Hiya,

I have requested our lead developer @Vladislav thoughts here for the username querying question.

For the like button cutoff, I can’t see that on your site anymore. Did you remove it ?

    Cheers

    Hello,

Have you considered disallowing the automatic posting of BuddyPress updates to Facebook, but allowing them to be posted manually? This way the users will still be able to post to their own walls (provided they granted the necessary permissions).

PC – Yeah we just decided to get rid of the like button all together, and opted to add in a social sharing bar.

Vlad – We’re experimenting with that now. I’m sure we’ll find a solution, but I still do like that idea of passing through user names to allow them to post to our Facebook feed.

Also do you have any input on how to get our images to post to the body of a Facebook post instead of a link back to our site?

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Hey there,

    Thanks for the post.

Also do you have any input on how to get our images to post to the body of a Facebook post instead of a link back to our site?

Unfortunately not without custom coding, no. The plugin shares the featured image or the first image from the post along with the facebook post with a thumbnail. That is how it works with the auto posting plugins.

You are most certainly welcome

We are always around to help. For now if you disable autoposting as Vlad suggested, the writers will have a choice to post the articles to their profiles with extended permissions.

Thanks for being a WPMU DEV member !
