My domain mapping will not map, why?

I have built a child site, the A record is pointing to my server. I have confirmed via a trace route that it is propagated but when i try to map the domain i receive the message that ‘The Domain is unavailable to access’

Any idea why this would happen?

    Happy to help you with this issue!

    It appears you have a dedicated IP. Awesome!

    However, it doesn’t access your WordPress installation. Not awesome :slight_frown: BUT this can be easily solved.

    Here is an excerpt from the domain mapping usage guide that explains a bit more about this:

    Note: The IP address must have it’s DocumentRoot set so that when you load it in your browser you will see your WordPress install. In most cases this should be /public_html/ but it can vary, your host will be able to assist easily. This ensures that any mapped domains will be sent through to your WordPress install.

    Contact your host and get them to change this for you :slight_smile:
