SidebarPro – Problem with replacing default sidebars

Dear support,

I have the following problem with sidebar Pro. I cannot replace the default sidebar with a costum sidebar on a page.

We build our template on this : http://320press.com/wpbs/

Its based on bootstrap.

We already had contact with the support team with a ticket .

Hi Tjalling,

Thanks for clarifying that and oddly, I can’t seem to replicate that. I can assure you though, we’d be able to get that sorted through our premium service. Our premium version also provides a page-specific visibility rule to allow further customization on a per-page basis too.

I do want to get this sorted though, no matter the case. If you could provide admin access to the site, I’ll gladly have a look and see what I can find. It may take a moment to dig into that, we’re faster through our premium forums since we have more resources and full teams there.

But I’ll gladly look into this as quickly as possible if you’ll provide access.

How does that sound?

Please rate my reply:

    Hi, tjalling!

It looks like this is supposed to be a reply to David’s email? And there’s another post here in the forum where you’re dealing with this issue?

Regardless, if you can provide support access, we can take a look! If this is ok, just grant me temporary admin access to your site by clicking “Grant Access” button in the WPMU DEV Dashboard Settings from the following path and reply on this thread after granting it?

Admin -> WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access Tab

If you have not installed WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin yet, kindly do that here : https://wpmudev.com/project/wpmu-dev-dashboard/ and then allow access as per the above process.

Thanks, and have a great Friday!

    Hi, tjalling!

In my screenshot below, you'll see what you need to do to make custom sidebars work with your front page or your blog posts index.

    1. Go to Appearance > Widgets.

    2. Open the custom sidebar you want to add to the home page.

    3. Select Choose Sidebar Location.

    4. Select Archives.

    5. Select the archive pages you want the sidebars to appear on.

    6. Save.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Michelle,

First of all, Tjalling went on holidays and passed this on to me. My name is Ruud. Actually our company is Tjalling’s customer. But that shouldn’t be a problem :stuck_out_tongue:

I checked your tip but that didn’t help. This only concerns the Main Sidebar for selected Archive Types. The problem is not that we cannot get it working on the front page and the blog page. The problem is that we cannot attach a CUSTOM MADE sidebar (Special Sidebar) to a unique Post or Page.

For example: I made a special sidebar called ‘standaard BCI sidebar’. I want this sidebar to be shown on the page http://staging.beijer.com/?p=1518 So in the Admin, in the metabox of that specific page I choose the ‘standaard BCI sidebar’ from the Main Sidebar pull-down menu. After clicking Update it is not shown on the page.

If I’m right you will have access to our site until 18:23 hrs today.

    With kind regards,

    Ruud Huijer

    Hi Michelle,

I’m back from vacation. I disabled the plugin (Simple Page Sidebars) but the problem is still there.

I think its more a template problem. Let me know if you need access to the template or anything else.

    Kind Regards,

    Tjalling Zijlstra

    Hi Michelle ,

Can you give me some feedback please? Do you have any idea what the problem is?

This problem is already more then 3 weeks old. We started on the forum with the lite version but then there was no solution there. I was recommended to buy the extension to get fast support.

    Hi there, tjalling!

Thanks so much for your patience here, the forum has been extremely busy this week, so our ticket queues are quite long.

Because of the delay, support access has expired again, let’s try using the contact form to get in touch, so you won’t need to keep enabling it.
