Some Sites on my Multisite log me out

So I had some smart cookie here help me with a previous problem with Domain Mapping, but now I have an even more odd one.

Simply put, when logged in as an Admin in my Multisite, I can click on the Dashboard for most of the Sites and it takes me to the Dashboard page for that Site no problem.

On a few of the Sites however (namely Code5 + HoopsIdol), when I click on the Dashboard link, I get booted out of my Multisite and am taken either to the main website or a 404 page.

I am using iThemes Security plugin to beef up security, and have changed my login page from wp-admin to another word for security reasons, but I would think it would affect ALL Sites if this was the problem.

Is there some sort of setting I am missing for Domain Mapping/Multisites that needs to be activiated/deactived to allow one of the Admin accounts access to ALL Sites?

Damn you guys are good. Thank you for resolving the issue so fast. I knew it was something simple I had over looked, just couldn’t find it. Appreciate the screen shot as that helped greatly.

On another note however, I didn’t have this problem before hand. Could it be that through an update that some of the settings were changed? I just need to know so that I check these things after running an update.

Thanx again for your awesome support.

Okay – maybe this problem isn’t fixed after all.

Here is the scenario. Today I was happily updating one of the Sites on my multisite (code5) and all of a sudden, half way through updating a website, I was returned to the login screen and since then I cannot access the Site anymore. Meaning, everytime I enter the Admin area via posthost.it/*login-path* and try access posthost.it/code5 via the Dashboard in the backend, I am logged out.

    Any ideas?

    Hi posthost,

Sorry for the delay, i’m not sure why this happens just with 1 subsite. Apologies for the inconvenience again, but could you regrant support access?

Have you also tried clearing your browser cache and cookies, as it could be a cookie related issue too after discussing this with a colleague. I’d just like to take another look, and if I can’t figure this, I will ask the developer to have a look into this for you.

    Thanks

So I just gave you access. I am based in Germany at the moment, so this explains why it takes me a while to respond to your requests. I am however at home on Friday, so if you want to try and do it when I am also online, I would appreciate your help.

    best

    Hi corbin,

I’ve just been taking another look, I can certainly see the problem, but i’m not sure what may be causing it. When it occurs, it completely logs you out of the network too as trying to access wp-admin again, gives a not_found page.

I have flagged one of our SLS guys for some assistance with trying to debug this issue for you, so hopefully we can get to the bottom of it.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve messaged the developer again as a priority on this for you, hopefully he should respond shortly.

It’s likely he will need access again, however he could also require FTP access too, but if so he will ask you to email him those details, so don’t post them here

I appreciate your patience whilst looking into this.

So it’s September now and the problems are getting worse. I was able to work on a site last week, but every time I access the Dashboard this week it logs me out of the Multisite completely. I’ve tried from different browsers, different computers and even different IP addresses with same result.

    Hello there Corbin,

Hope you are doing great despite the annoying issue here.

We will need to look debug directly in your install. In order to do so, I’ll ask you to please send us the following information via contact form :

    – In the subject field add “Attn: Jose”

    – Link back to this thread

    – Include WP admin/network access

    – Include FTP host and credentials.

    – Include cPanel login url and credentials.

On the contact form, select “I have a different question“, this ensures it comes through and gets assigned to me.

    Thanks in advance,

With a recent update to the Domain Mapping I seem to be having a similar problem on my site. It will log users out randomly. Seems to be when going from the main site to a subdirectory site which has a domain mapped to it.

Mine is a multisite and buddypress install. I have granted access to WMPUDEV support if anyone wants to take a look. iblog.dearbornschools.org
