Remove Asking for Billing on Downloadable Products

Hello,

We sell only a single downloadable eBook PDF through PayPal. We want to NOT have the checkout process ask for billing information, as that information is collected again by PayPal and we are worried about losing conversions. Your support staff says this option is not available, but that if I make a ticket you could provide a solution. We do have the box unchecked for “Do not collect shipping info for downloadable products” but it still asks for billing.

    I guess for guests we will always need to ask for the email address to know where to send the download link, but perhaps we can customize billing fields so that we can pick and choose which fields we want to ask? Thatd be great

    i think thats may be something you would want to get a developer to work with but with out proper credentials i dont know how the sale can be verified since using this ecommerce is outside the PayPal network but let’s see what they say

    I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

    I’ve checked this on my setup and it seem that there would be some additional “tweak” needed. That said, I’m forwarding this to our 2nd-line support code magicians and hopefully they’ll be able to provide you with a solution soon.

    Please note though that their response time may be a bit longer than mine here in on support forum as they deal with a volume of complex issues on daily basis.

    Please keep an eye on this thread for further information.
