Hit a bug in Defender.

WPMU DEV Dashboard will be required for this action. Please visit…

or A scan is already running warning.

I removed and installed with no change.

Change settings to turn them off and on but experienced the same problem.

Log out and log in to WPMU dash and same problem.

Wouldn't let me get past and I needed the job finished quick so I used your code to clear cache and clear the lock and was able to use it again.

Maybe have an option in the back end to force a stop/clear would ideal to get around this in the future for whatever reason it was caused.

Chris

    Hello Chris,

How did that error was triggered on your site? I’m testing Defender on my installation and I don’t see it. On your screen it does not show on which page that shows.

Is it showing while Defender is scanning and you cannot cancel it? Can you check if SETUP AUTOMATIC SCANS was enabled? If yes, then it helps first to disable it and then you should be able to cancel scan.

    kind regards,

    Kasia

Defender side menu click = Need WPMU dev installed.

Defender -> Dashboard = Worked fine.

Auditlog etc all worked fine it was just Defender Scan itself that got locked.

Scan menu – showed no scan running and last scan was 2nd Oct 2016 but when I clicked scan I got the scan already running warning as a message alert window.

I wrote some code that ran your clean cache function then remove lock function and got it working that way.

Hope this helps. I should have backed up the DB and WP for you to help diagnose it properly. If a problem arises like that would you like me to keep a snapshot?

    Regards,

    Chris

    Hi Chris Bourne,

Hope you are doing good today.

I’m not able to replicate this issue in my system, do you still get this error message in your system? If yes, could you please enable support access, so that we could give a closer look. You can grant access from WPMU DEV > Support > Support Access > Grant Access, or check this manual: http://wpmudev.com/manuals/wpmu-dev-dashboard-enabling-staff-login/

Support access would be more ideal, so that we could check your system, and try to generate this issue in our test server. However, keeping a snapshot is always a good practice, and can help in keeping your website safe to recover.

Please let us know once you enable access, so that we could get this sorted. Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,
