[Defender Pro] WPMU Advertising

I don’t appreciate WPMU advertising its hosting services in all of my client’s backend panels. I don’t want you advertising anything to my clients in the backend control panels without my express prior permission. This firewall crap should only be sent to your account holders via email, not appended to the backend of every site I load your software into!!! I am a paying client and I don’t want that crap in there. (https://wpmudev.com/waf/)

    Hi StevenMayJr & Julian,

I hope you are well and thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand your concern and have already made an improvement adding a white labeling option. This is now QA Passed and as we consider this as very critical, an update will be rolled out as soon as possible.

I am really sorry about the inconvenience.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

    Hi StevenMayJr and Julian ,

    We have good news!

Our team has worked on this issue making sure that your needs would be taken into consideration.

We have launched a new Defender Pro version today that solves this issue.

You can download this new version using the following link: https://wpmudev.com/download/defender-pro-2.3.zip

You can also update on The Hub or going to WPMU DEV > Plugins on your WordPress admin panel.

With the update in place you just need to activate the white label feature on WPMU DEV, and you will be able to see that all the WAF offers are gone.

Please go to your WordPress admin panel, then WPMU DEV > Tools > Whitelabel, and activate it:

I’m really sorry for all that inconvenient. I’m sure that our product team will be more careful before launching something like that in the future.

    Best regards,
    Felipe

        Hi Julian ,

        I hope that you’re doing great!

I checked your comment on the other post, and I see your point.

Besides the bug, I also contacted the product team regarding the possibility of changing this text and removing the Pro version reference (at least for the users that are using the Whitelabel feature).

I still don’t have a feedback from them, but I’ll let you know as soon as I have updates.

Feel free to keep commenting there if you have more observations regarding this Forminator version.

        Best regards,
        Felipe

I don’t know what the good news is, the AD is still there and every time the plugin is deactivated and reactivated it comes back. THIS IS A HUGE SCREWUP! You (WPMU) has no right to advertise anything at anytime to my clients. Your company and your role should be invisible. I don’t even want to see that MIGRATE crap in the backend anywhere and it should be on me to take an additional step to remove it. I spend almost $600 a year with you folks. Figure this out and make it right!

A screenshot from this AM is attached, and before you ask or follow up, YES I have the most current version of everything running!

    Hi StevenMayJr ,

First, really sorry for the experience that you’re having.

We work hard on making sure that we can provide an experience as good as possible for our members, and I apologize for not meeting your expectations.

From what I see on your screenshot, it seems that you don’t have the whitelabel option activated.

This option allow us to filter/hide our brand and product offers on your WordPress admin panel. We wouldn’t show what you saw on your admin panel if that option was activated.

Could you possibly try activating it on WordPress admin panel, then WPMU DEV > Tools > Whitelabel?

There you see the option for activate, and that would be all.

Please just let me know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Felipe

    Hi StevenMayJr ,

I see your point, and I’m sorry for that.

It’s mostly branding and cross-selling that we’re showing there.

The cross-selling is relevant because it let some members know about a solution that they possibly didn’t know before.

Something that I could propose is creating a plugin for you that you just would need to install on the sites for hiding the Firewall offer/page. Would that make sense for you?

We also have a task (still with no ETA) for adding an option for bulk whitelabel your sites on the Hub, so maybe that could also help you in this case.

    Best regards,
    Felipe
