[Defender Pro] Plugin conflict with Defender

When Defender Pro is activated I don’t have full screen controls for my Vimeo embeds but if I deactivate it I get them back. Is this a conflict or something that can be changed in Defender?

    Hi Jon ,

It’s possible that there’s something on your site conflicting with Defender but we haven’t had similar requests so far so we would need to investigate this further first.

Can you tell us a bit more on how the Vimeo videos are embedded on your site, are you using default WP Vimeo block or some plugin is used for embedding?

Did you try performing a test by disabling all plugins except for Defender and switch to default WP theme to see if the same issue happens in that case?

I see that you’ve linked a staging site, could you provide us with support access and is it ok if we enable/disable things there during the investigation?

You can enable support access from WPMU DEV > Support > Support Access panel in your WP admin.
You can find more details about granting support access here:

    Best regards,

Thanks, I’ve just tested on another site where it’s easier to do plugin deactivation. Can I send you a link to that one privately.

That has Twenty Twenty and no plugins and is working fine but when I activate Smush or Defender I have the issue. On the original site I’m using Elementor to embed but on the other site I’ve tested with the WordPress default embed too and get the same issues.

    Hi Jon

Thanks for testing and updating us.

I think it would be best if we could now check on that other site of yours where you have tested it. Would you be able to provide access credentials so we could also test it again there and check configuration (and apply some patch if needed)?

Note: Don’t post your login details in this ticket.
Instead, you can send me your details using our contact form https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/#i-have-a-different-question and the template below:

    Subject: "<strong>Attn: Adam Cz</strong>"
    - Site login URL
    - WordPress admin username
    - WordPress admin password
    - FTP credentials (host/username/password) and phpMyAdmin credentials
    - or cPanel credentials (host/username/password) <- preferred if available
    - Folder path to site in question
    - Include this URL for reference:
    - Any other relevant urls/info

    Best regards,

    Hi Jon

    I received credentials, thank you.

I checked the site and there are two small changes in configuration needed:

    1. Smush Pro

“Lazy Load” option has to be configured to not apply lazy load to “iframe” elements.

    2. Defender

Apparently, these embeds needs less strict “Feature Policy” security header settings and seem to work fine with it set (on “Defender -> Tools -> Security Headers” page) to “Feature Policy: all” option.

With these settings in both plugins they seem fine. I’ve left both plugins enabled on that site and configured as mentioned above so you could check and confirm that.

    Best regards,
    Adam
