[Other] Has Hustle been discontinued?

I have not seen any changes or improvements to Hustle in years.

A year ago, I requested adding a “Hello bar” like what WPMUdev uses at the top of it’s own website and I was told it was already requested (back in 2019) and would be added to the roadmap, however Hustle doesn’t even appear in the roadmap anymore.

Since its initial request, it has been 5 years. I am curious if half a decade has been enough time to implement it without a workaround… and if not, whether we should start looking into alternative for the Hustle plugin since it would seem it does not have any priority.

    I want to you know that your request has been submitted to our Product Management Team by the time you requested along with every new request.

    Please understand that the implementation of a new feature involves a thorough assessment of its feasibility, potential impact, and benefit to our entire customer base.

    While we cannot guarantee the implementation of every request (immediately requested), each suggestion is valuable and will help shape the evolution of our product.

    Your link sent me to a page that quite literally showed nothing was added to Hustle other than PHP compatibility and the twitter rebrand. Can you show me the last time multiple new features were added? It also shows the product team has a single developer who’s also on another product team so that’s not reassuring in any way that it’s still currently under development.

    Also, it’s been 5 years since this feature was supposedly in development. The best you could do is tell me that something that we were told was already in progress needs to be thoroughly assessed. I just want to know the truth. Has Hustle been abandoned? Are we to expect any new features to Hustle in the next 6 months? If no… then I will gladly move on to something else. I just don’t want to be strung along thinking it’s on the way when it’s not.

    Our team has been constantly working on all our Pro plugins including the Hustle Pro. There can be some features and improvements that may take time depending on their requirements/complexities.

      Those have been mostly maintenance releases. There have been no notable feature updates for a long time, Hustle is no longer on the roadmap, and looking at the version history it has just 1 developer assigned to it. So it looks and feels like abandonware. If WPMU DEV no longer cares about the plugin, which it really seems to be the case, then just say so please.

      By providing the changelog, you are further proving my point that it feels like Hustle has been abandoned.

      I’d like to hear an update from someone who is not part of the support team. Don’t get me wrong, I know you have to reply to everyone but you are just providing a non-answer fluff response. Can you please reach out to management and have them give a statement on the future of Hustle?

    Thank you for your engagement with our Hustle plugin evolution.

    As explained before, not all the feature requests will be implemented (immediately) as they have been requested. Implementing a new feature in our system is not a straightforward task. It requires careful evaluation, planning, and development to ensure that it meets our quality standards as well as the specific needs of our users. We need to consider various factors such as technical feasibility, compatibility, and potential impact on existing functionalities.

    However, we notified our Hustle team, and once we get a reply from them we will share it on this ticket.

    Hi Laura Zeballos , please do not reply with fluff responses. I’m not trying to be rude here but I’d rather be ignored than provided such an answer. As a professional developer of 30 years, your explanation makes no sense in the real world and it just sounds like corporate jargon.

    You either have the feature on the roadmap or you don’t. It’s been 5 years since we were told it was in development. Is it happening or not? If it’s not, then that’s all we need to know. Better yet… does Hustle have anything on the roadmap for 2024? We are simply asking for straight forward and honest answers and it seems to be like pulling teeth in order to get a legit response to this question. I have to say – it’s beyond frustrating and the quality of responses has definitely dropped drastically as of late.

    Many things happen behind the scenes before we release a new version or feature, all the plugins listed on this page https://wpmudev.com/plugins/ are active and will receive updates & new features and support whenever required.

    As you correctly said, at this moment we don’t have it on the roadmap since we don’t have any estimated time to release new options in the plugin, but it doesn’t mean we stop working on the plugin or don’t collect the feedback and request for new features.

    I also understand your concern and we forwarded it to the plugin team.
