[The Hub Client] Allow clients to use subdomains directly for site hosting creation

0

It would be great to have a way to allow clients to create sites that directly use subdomains based on my domain.
A client could create xxxxx.mydomain.com and directly be assigned to the new hosted site being created and directly have the subdomain DNS configured and the SSL taken care of.
If possible to not have the tempurl.host at all for the created site would be much better.
This would give a great white-labeled experience.

    Hi Andrew

I hope you are doing well.

I am afraid it is not that easy, every WordPress receive a new hosting, so even if you automate the subdomain the only way to properly make the website up is to point the DNS correctly to the server IP and this could only be done if the Nameservers are pointed to us.

There are many variable that can go wrong in such case, however, we forwarded this request to our developers and designers so we can take a deeper look at it.

I would second this Patrick Freitas . I’m brand new to WPMUDEV, but this would only make the experience much more tailored. For my domains I have my name servers directed at WPMUDEV. I can’t speak for OP, but I’d be okay if such a feature allowed you to use any custom domain for reseller temporary hosted sites. If that meant you were forced to use a non-hosted domain that was pointed to your name servers for the purpose of hosting resold hosted sites I think that would still make it a great feature, whilst reducing its complexity.

    Hi Marc Parisi

Thank you for the feedback, I added your comment as an extra vote for this.

Using the nameserver improve the experience on having everything on a single place and then we can help better with support and configuration whenever necessary but this is not mandatory, you can have the nameservers outside and point just the A record, though to have something similar you would be looking for then the nameserver would be probably required.
