AAM cannot access anymore in the super admin

Hello Admin,

Hello, i encountered a problem with my superadmin account in blog.rosper8dotcom.com.

I’m testing each site. I have a plugin installed which is the AAM plugin.

Then i deactivate some like posts, medias, users, etc. and etc… so i am quite sure i am login with my super admin so the reason i did that is to deactivate some features and menus into my users account and incoming users…hope you got what i mean.

Then when i opened one of my user name maribel under blog.prosper8dotcom.com/maribel i saw the AAM PLUGIN??? so how’s that happened since i am deactivating such features on maribel’s account or to my user’s account.

And what happened was reversed, me as super admin my AAM PLUGIN was lost and those i deactivate for my users happened to deactivate on mine, my super admin…not to them..

How’s that happened?

Please give me an advise. since i already using the AAM plugin before and it’s quite okey before, but now what happened was reversed.

Thanks a lot and please help…

    Hey @Gio Nicolas,

Hope you’re doing well today

Since the plugin was working before and the issue started happening now this might be due to some changes you made on your site recently.

Have you updated your WordPress, installed any new plugins or activated different theme?

Did you check for any plugin conflicts? You can run a basic troubleshoot using the flowchart here.

Let us know about the results.

    Best regards,

    Predrag

    Hello Predrag,

I don’t know how to update my wordpress multisite, since i used the Ultimate Branding i just removed or hide the wordpress on the menus.

Please advise how to do the updates if possible.

I just only installed the wpmu dev themes. and also wpmu dev plugins.

The only problem i just encountered missing on the super admin of mine is AAM plugin and the reverse happened to transferred in my user admin “maribel”

And i am asking for a professional help to look at my account and i am allowing the Grant Access to see what really happened how was that happened.

Thank you so much for responding hope you could help me to re-activate such missing features on the admin side…like adding new users, and etc…

    Thanks,

    Gio “David” Nicolas

    Hi David,

Thanks for your reply and for granting access here. Since the issue seems to be related to a plugin/theme conflict though, could you please let us know how that troubleshooting process that Predrag mentioned works for you?

Here’s another quick link to that:

    https://wpmudev.com/manuals/using-wpmu-dev/getting-support/

I just ask that because we wouldn’t normally go into your site and deactivate all your plugins. We’d hate to mess up anything you’ve setup there.

Could you let us know how that works for you?

    Thanks,

    David

    Hello, Gio!

So sorry for the extreme delay here, I’d love to take a look at your site. Do you mind re-activating the support access?

I did a little investigating, and I found this from AAM, apparently lots of customers have had the same issue, so they added a new feature in version 2.5 that prevents admins from locking themselves out. They have a tutorial here on setting things up to prevent harming your super admin account: http://wpaam.com/tutorials/aam-super-admin/

If you are starting over, that may be a good option to prevent it from happening again.

    Hello Michelle,

    Thanks for your respond.

I already deleted the AAM since this was really a total messed up my whole system.

    I appreciate your respond.

But for me, this plugin of AAM is not recommendable since the plugin has a lot of negative effects inside the super admin area.

    Thanks.
