Able to set up so people can enter for free or that they just need a password?

We are looking to set up a restricted blog and only allow certain people to enter and post. This seems like a good solution because you can customize it so much. However, is there an option to just have someone enter with just a password and not have to pay?

    I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

    There isn’t a way to use it just with a password, but you can offer a free subscription and then they just need to sign up and choose a username and password, then they can access the content with no fee, would that work? :slight_smile:

    Thanks for the reply. I just watched all of the videos for the Membership plug in and still not sure if it is the right fit for our company.

    We are looking to set up a blog, wiki, forum (whatever works) for specific customers. We would only want a select few to be able to lead and post topics, thoughts, etc. within in this blog or whatever. Then from there, all the other users we invite in, allow them to comment on what the lead people have posted.

    The company would very much like to have as much control over it and have it be a complete private section. You would have to request to be part of this group.

    Is there any plug in that you can recommend??? Please let me know and thanks again for your help!

    I hope you are well today, thanks for the additional information, this could work for you, how about using something like WP user Front-end http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-frontend/installation/

    Then with membership you can restrict that page to only people who have access to it, if they have been invited with a invite code to sign up or similar. Then you can allow the visitors access still to all posts, but they can’t post if that makes sense? Do you think that would work?
