BuddyPress Integration Not Working

I have many extra Profile Fields for my Registration page. They are missing. I checked the Buddypress Integration and there is no button for Protection Rules, nor is the BuddyPress link on the Protection Rules page.

    Hey @Mary, Michael here!

It looks like Membership 2 Pro was downgraded to our free version, and as a result, the Profile Fields add-on (which is what allowed those extra profile fields to appear on Membership 2 Pro’s signup form) was disabled.

I’ve gone ahead and reverted it to the Pro version for you, but just for the future, if you see an update for Membership 2 appear that has a version number like this:

    4.0.0.x

Do not update, and please ensure that the WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin is active on your site. Otherwise, you’ll “update” to the free version, and this situation will re-appear.

    Hope this helps!

    Kind Regards,

    Michael

Michael, Michael, thank you so much for fixing the problem so quickly but I must say that I am not impressed with your company that does not allow me to upgrade without fear of the issue repeating itself. Do you realize that I have 40 websites, and on each of those websites I have dozens of plugins, and you want me to remember NOT to upgrade one of them with a certain version number. Don’t you think that’s a little much to ask?

This is not a good situation at all.

    Hey @Mary,

Allow me to put the situation in a different light then, as I’d like to make it as simple as possible.

In 12 words, the basic principle is thus: keep our WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin enabled, and you’ll do fine.

That work better? 40 websites is definitely quite a bit to administer and keep track of, keeping the process simple definitely makes the day a lot smoother.

    Please advise,

    Michael

I’m not following how this is going to solve the problem of me remembering NOT to update when updates are posted.

It is my practice to update all software as new versions become available. When I see that an update is available, I will naturally want to update it, as is advised by all the security software companies.
