Can't install Themes Server error status: Bad Gateway [502]

I just signed up for upfont and haven’t been able to get it installed to even see what it’s about..

I have a brand new installation of wordpress using iPage. (tried deleting and re-installing several times)

1. I did the automatic install using iPage tools.

2. I downloaded the wpmudev dashboard and installed the plugin inside wordpress successfully.

3. I tried installing the spirit theme as I am following a getting started article from you

4. It will not install giving an error: Server error status: Bad Gateway [502]

5. I tried following a troubleshooting article which brings you through creating a php.ini file and other steps to raise the memory setting but it did not work.

    Hello XTRALARGE,

    I checked your site and I saw that you already have installed Spirit so I activated it to see how it will work.

    And that returned 500 internal server error – lots of them.

    Internal server error is hard to diagnose without seeing server error logs (you might want to ask your hosting provider for them) because there could be few reasons. It is also related to memory but since you already tried that, then we should check for plugin conflict. Because it seemes to impossible to run standard conflict test (there is 500 error in wp-admin) I would like you to use your FTP account and then navigate to wp-content directory and then rename plugin directory – this will disable all plugins at once.

    Let me know if this will give positive results.
