Cleaning up old Snapshot files

I am trying to clean up my site’s content. The WP-Content directory is over 3 GB, most of this is in the Snapshot directory. I have deleted old snapshots (prior to 2017) but I still have a lot of large files in the Snapshot directory that are dated 2016.

What’s the best way to clean them up without deleting something Snapshot needs?

Also, when I do a snapshot, does the new snapshot include all of the old snapshot files (if I dont exclude that directory?)

    Hello Glenn

    When you go to Dashboard > Snapshots > All Snapshots > Do you see the list of snapshots in there? Then you can delete from there.

    And those which are not listed there, you can manually delete from the file manager.

    Answer to your second question, nope, the snapshot doesn’t include the snapshot directory, so not the old snapshots. But if you use Managed Backup, then everything in your site will be included in the backup, doesn’t matter what files you have in there :slight_smile:
