Cloner did not retain post categories on cloned version

Hi,

We used Cloner as a tool for launching our latest theme for our web site. We cloned each site, adjusted the theme and content, then cloned over the original.

In this process, the categories associated with posts were removed. All our posts are now showing as uncategorized.

We have an older version of the database. Can you provide me any insight on the best way to retrieve this information.

    Hello Heather,

    Terms (categories in your case) and posts relations are kept on the wp_term_relationships table in database.

    Of course for each susbsite this table will also have number of the blog (its ID): wp_2_term_relationships – there will be prefix for tables, but main part that this is term_relationships table.

    If you change new one with one you have in your backup (using PhpMyAdmin) then categories should be back in place.

    (before any database operation please take another backup, or just export database)
