Defender says that all WordPress core files appear modified

The defender said I have 1240 file scanning issues. It looks like it just took all the WordPress core files. however, the “current code” part is empty.
I’ve tried to re-install Defender and run a new scan, but the issue persists. Also, there is the following notice in the debug.log:
PHP Notice: Undefined offset: -1 in ***/wp-content/plugins/wp-defender/vendor/php_codesniffer-3.4.0/src/Tokenizers/PHP.php on line 1371

    Hello ROIverhogen

Can you please double-check the permissions and user:group of core files in server? Your hosting provider may assist you with that, or can even provide a tool in their server panel to reset these.

If this doesn’t help, then we’ll need a staging site to further investigate. When you have that ready, please share some more access details. As this is a public forum, you should send us your details through our safe contact form

    – WordPress admin (login URL/username/password)
    – (S)FTP credentials for file access (host/username/password/path of the website in question)
    – server credentials such as cPanel/Plesk (login URL/username/password)
    – link back to this thread for reference (e.g. https://wpmudev.com/forums/topic/example-topic)

Keep in mind the subject line, as it ensures that it gets assigned to me.
