Displaying Network Posts

I’m having similar issues to the post below.

https://wpmudev.com/forums/topic/network-theme-clear-instructions

I’ve set up a new WP installation and have completed the network configuration.

Purchased the Network template and added to the page I want to aggregate my network blog posts:

http://blogs.bonnieplants.com/

This Static page using the blog new template.

I have 2 network blogs here using a different theme.

http://blogs.bonnieplants.com/thebonnieplantsblog/

http://blogs.bonnieplants.com/thegratefulgardener/

I’ve every possible combination of settings in the Network Config panel, and can get nothing to show. I’m sure it’s something simple I’m missing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Apologies for my ignorance. This is my first project with WordPress and I’m still trying to find my way.

The goal is to display the posts from these 2 network blogs:

    http://blogs.bonnieplants.com/thebonnieplantsblog/

    http://blogs.bonnieplants.com/thegratefulgardener/

    to this aggregate page:

    http://blogs.bonnieplants.com/

I’ve installed the post-indexer and recent post modules and activated them through the network admin page.

The WordPress settings are set to show the latest posts, and not a static page.

I’ve added a new test post and set it to be “sticky”.

Not sure what else I’m missing.

    I appreciate your help,

    Hiya Byron,

You shouldn’t need the Post Indexer and Recent Post plugins – as the theme will take care of this for you (when it’s working right).

Can you tell us how you have the theme options set up? Look at Network Theme>Advanced Options in our admin menu sidebar – we’re really only interested in what you have for the front page settings.

*Edit* Also – what version of WordPress are you running?

@Tammie, I’m wondering about the possibility of this being due to a sub-domain multisite install? I know that’s caused problems in other areas

    Front Page settings are:

    Network Posts

    No Blogs are excluded

    Starting from page 1

    10 blog posts per page

    10 total posts

    Show thumbnails is yes.

Everything else is the default; blank.

    WordPress v 3.1.2

    Thanks for your help,

    Byron

I can take a look on Monday it will be now if you send your ftp details through to the site along with a full admin access user (able to turn on and off plugins). Please make sure both are full users though before you do this.

I won’t be able to look until Monday but can then. Send through this site’s content for ‘attention of Tammie’. Give me access to the network blogs too able to add images and so on. After all it’s those that have the featured images.

I went in however you have set to exclude all blogs… not really sure how you intend on showing posts when you are excluding the only 3 blogs on the site.

You need to go into your wp-options table and remove any network option value as that is only way to undo the setting of exclude. That or you can hit reset on the theme options.
