Domain Mapping Plugin locks me into login page

I realize this is the second time I’ve come around on this, but I’m thoroughly stumped on this one. I feel like maybe I’m missing a step.

I set up my first mapped domain yesterday, and everything seemed to be working fine. The trouble occurred this morning when my client informed me that she cant’ seem to log into her account. She blamed herself, figured she’d screwed up the login somehow, but I was suspicious, so I manually logged out of my network and attempted to log back. As before, I was asked to log in again, and my LLA plugin reduced the number of attempts I had left to try.

I went in thru FTP and pulled out the Domain Mapping plugin and everything went back to normal (except, of course, that her domain was no longer mapped).

I then turned off every plugin except the WPMU Dashboard and then reactivated the Domain Mapping plugin, logged out, and was once again locked out of the account. So, its doesn’t appear to be a plugin conflict.

I deactivated the Domain Mapping plugin again so I could log back in. Now the only plugin running is the WPMUDev Dashboard. So, it must be a configuration error somewhere along the way.

So, RIGHT NOW, the set up is this:

—-

The main website is http://aithene.net/

The mapped website is http://aithene.net/cathysavino/

All plugins except the WPMUDev Dashboard are off.

The sunrise.php file from Domain Mapping is the the wp_content folder.

The additions to my wpconfig file starting from WP_DEBUG are:

define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);

define( ‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true );

define(‘MULTISITE’, true);

define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, false);

define(‘DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘aithene.net’:wink:;

define(‘PATH_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘/’:wink:;

define(‘SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE’, 1);

define(‘BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE’, 1);

define(‘SUNRISE’, ‘on’:wink:;

Anything else you think I can check?

Thanks,

Chris

    Hello Chris,

    I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

    I understand that the Domain Mapping plugin is not working at the time so there’s no way for me to access the site and check DM’s configuration at the moment. On the other hand, enabling the plugin prevents you from logging-in even into “Network Admin” area as a super-admin, is that right?

    It would be very important to take a look at Domain Mapping settings so I’m wondering if you could (I’m aware of inconvenience though) do the following:

    – login to your site as a super-admin

    – enable Domain Mapping (I understand that it doesn’t log you out, just prevents from logging back in, right?)

    – take screenshots of following pages of “Network Admin -> Settings -> Domain Mapping”: “Mapping options”, “Mapped Domain”

    – go to mapped page dashboard and also take screenshots of all tabs of “Tools -> Domain Mapping” page

    Please remove/blur any sensitive data if there are any (such as e.g. login names, IP addresses etc) and share those screenshots with me here.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,

    Adam

    Good morning, Predrag,

    I have reactivated the Support Access.

    Per your request, I disabled the Cross-Domain login option. Saved. Logged out, and tried to log back in (three times to make sure the error wasn’t a bad password). It failed. Went to FTP and manually removed the plugin and logged back in.

    While I was as it, I then reactivated the Domain Mapping plugin. I turned the Cross-Domain login option back on, but turned off the “Load Cross-domain autologin asynchronously” option. Logged out, tried to log back in, and was locked out. Went to FTP, manually removed the plugin and logged back in.

    Plugin is currently on. Wondering if you can get in via Customer Support access with the plugin activated.

    thanks,

    Chris

    Hello Chris!

    I wasn't able to access the dashboard now, however it was due to another error that's most likely on our site. Nonetheless, I'd like to take a bit closer look at your setup. Could you please send in:

    Subject: "Attn: Adam Czajczyk"

    – your site's WordPress admin login URL

    – admin login and password (may be a temporary account)

    – FTP credentials (hostname, username, password, port number if needed)

    – any other relevant URLs and information

    – link back to this thread

    Please use our contact form here https://wpmudev.com/contact/.

    Select "I have a different question" from the drop-down list.

    Please be sure to make a full backup of your entire site first!

    Best regards,

    Adam

    Hi @christopher_wilson,

    I hope had been good today!

    I checked your website and I was able to login and logout multiple times in the network admin panel (using the Super Admin credentials) and in your mapped domain (with Super admin credentials and also I created a new user and gave Administrator rule to test.)

    Not sure if you I am missing something, are you still having this issue?

    Cheers, Luís

    @Luis,

    Well, that’s good to hear as well as somewhat frustrating. I shut down my machine last night and restarted it today. After receiving your response, I found the same to be true for me.

    I’m wondering if perhaps @Predrag’s solution worked and maybe I was dealing with some sort of caching issue.

    OK. I’m going to bring up my other plugins again and then log and out back in to see if we’re in the clear. Thanks.

    Hello Chris,

    I apologize I didn’t respond to you yesterday but while waiting for your e-mail I’ve dealt with some other issues and then ended my shift. I can see you shared login credentials and my colleague @Luis checked that out and so far it seems the site’s working (which you seem to confirm).

    That said, please bring all other necessary plugins up, double check if the issue still occurs and let me know please if I should make use of login credentials that you sent and further investigate the issue or if the case is closed.

    Best regards,

    Adam

    Hi, all,

    I’m going ahead and closing this out. Things seem to be working well, and I haven’t had any problems since we chatted last.

    My only thought is maybe to remind meatheads like myself to clear the browser cache after making changes to the settings, since the computer restart seems to have been the final step in fixing the problem for me.

    thanks!
