Facbook comments on FB not appearing in WP

I have “Use Facebook for comments” ticked as I only want to use FB comments and no WP.

If you look on my FB page https://www.facebook.com/AlphaDriver/posts/615535081797555?comment_id=97089883&offset=0&total_comments=1&notif_t=feed_comment

you will see Camille had commented on the post, yet when I go to my WP http://www.alphadriver.com.au/news/2013/07/jaguar-set-to-wow-goodwood-crowd-with-surprise-c-x75-dynamic-debut/ it did not appear until I hit the “Import comments now (this can take a while)” and then it imported them into the WP comments and now its showing the WP comments which I do no want.

I also commented with my own account on the WP page in the facebook comment box, yet these comments do now show on the facebook page.

I thought having this facebook comment box means the same comments will be shown on the facebook and WP page, that is what I am after, is this possible?

    Hi @Paul,

    You’ll want to check the box for “Import Facebook Comments” at the top. This will automatically import them for you.

    If you want to opt out of WordPress comments completely and use Facebook only, you can check the “Override WordPress Discussion settings” This will require users to comment via facebook.

    Does this import them to the wordpress comments? I do not want to use the wordpress comments I just want the facebook comments.

    If a facebook comment is written on the facebook page, can this be shown on the facebook comments on the wordpress page? and vice versa? This is what I want.

    Also if I tick “Override WordPress discussion settings” both comment boxes disappear so I’ve left it unticked. Even with the “Import Facebook comments” ticked nothing is happening…

    If a comment is made when the user is on facebook, it will be imported to WordPress. If the user a makes a comment through the WordPress comment form on your site, it can’t be posted to facebook because it’s just a comment associated with an email address. There’s no facebook profile, and no facebook user for it.

    To get what you’re looking for, you’ll need to enable “Override WordPress discussion settings” This will make the facebook form come up directly on your site, and all comments will be handled via facebook. If you’re having problems with this mode, try disabling the comment importer as you won’t be needing it.

    To better understand what’s going on here, you’re basically just embedding the existing comments from facebook along with the article. None of these comments would actually be saved on your site, so you’re not importing them, but simply displaying them.

    Yes I know this and this is what I want. Problem is that it’s not working.

    I think the problem may be “”Override WordPress discussion settings” needs to be unticked or else it makes all the comments disappear.

    Hopefully you will see JUST the facebook comments, (I currently have the override switch off and Import Facebook comments off)

    I have made a comment, test17 but if you go to the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/AlphaDriver?fref=ts it is not there. I hope this explains my problem clearer.
