[Forminator Pro] 8 requests for Forminator Pro ( small & big )

0

Hi there,

First of all I’d like to say that I’ve been following every update of your plug-ins and it’s getting better & better everytime. So keep up the good work!

My company isn’t using Forminator Pro that much because, in our opinion, it’s missing some features we need. I made a post about this last year, but if you don’t mind I’m going to share my requests again.

1. This thread about ‘More data in datalayers for advanced tracking’.
https://wpmudev.com/forums/topic/forminator-pro-more-data-in-datalayer

2. Option to upload multiple files
F.E.: You need help from an interior designer so you send him/her multiple pictures of your place (very common, no?).

3. Option to have the uploaded files received as attachments in your inbox (not in the media library).

4. More templates to choose from for your forms in the ‘appearance tab’.
–> Inputfields with rounded corners
–> Transparent inputfields (for forms displayed over an image)
–> All templates you have now, but with the option to have rounded inputlabels and transparent inputfields
–> dark/light option (so you can display your form on light/dark backgrounds)

–> Make it easy for us. We know how to do it ourselves with CSS, but it would be nice to have these options nonetheless. You have a beautiful interface in place to add these features, imo.

5. Option to change the error: “You exceeded the amount of words that can be used.” (this option is currently missing, although you can edit most of the other errors.)

6. Add a ‘center text option’ to the WYSIWYG-texteditor @ “After submission: Choose what happens after a user successfully submits your form.” in the ‘behaviour tab’

7. Option to have labels displayed within the inputfields (this is something you see a lot lately)

8. Free Pizza with every submission

Thank you <3

    Hi Jeroen

    I hope you’re having a nice day and thank you for great feedback!

    I hope you don’t mind if I’ll respond slightly out of order as I have some, as I believe, good news :slight_smile:

    2. Option to upload multiple files
    F.E.: You need help from an interior designer so you send him/her multiple pictures of your place (very common, no?).

    That’s already on a “to do” list and is in design. Therefore should be added in one of the upcoming updates (not the nearest one but shouldn’t be long after that).

    3. Option to have the uploaded files received as attachments in your inbox (not in the media library).

    As a workaround for now, this solution should work:

    Enter your description herehttps://wpmudev.com/forums/topic/forminator-pro-file-upload-field-sends-files-as-an-attachment-in-email/#post-3670142

    A built-in implementation is already also on a “to do” list under development so I can confirm that it will also be added to the plugin core in future.

    To make sure: do you actually mean “Design style” options (such as current “Default”, “Flat”, “bold”, “material”:wink: or rather specific options regardless of selected style (like “rounded/square corners”, “transparent/non-transparent inputs”:wink:?

    5. Option to change the error: “You exceeded the amount of words that can be used.” (this option is currently missing, although you can edit most of the other errors.)

    You’re right. It’s a bug that’s been reported just recently and our developers are already aware of it so it will be fixed with future updates.

    6. Add a ‘center text option’ to the WYSIWYG-texteditor @ “After submission: Choose what happens after a user successfully submits your form.” in the ‘behaviour tab’

    You’re right, it’s not there. I’ve already suggested it to our developers :slight_smile:

    7. Option to have labels displayed within the inputfields (this is something you see a lot lately)

    Could you point me to some example form (any form, any website) where I could see that in action? Currently the placeholders can be used in Forminator forms but it’s not exactly the same. Seeing an example could help and I’ll be more than happy to discuss that with our designers and developers then :slight_smile:

    9. Option to not only enter hexcodes in your colorpickers, but also add the transparency

    I just checked and actually there is transparency selection but only for some “areas” and not for all available elements/color pickers. I’m not quite sure whether this is a bug or there’s a reason for this so I’ve asked our developers about that. If it’s a bug, we’ll fix it. If it’s not a bug then we’ll add it in future if it’s possible.

    10. Option to automatically have a link to your privacy policy at the bottom of your form.
    ( currently this needs to be done by hand )

    There’s a GDPR field that can be added to any form but yes, the link itself must be added manually to the message currently. I think making it pick up a Privacy Policy page address automatically from WP settings should do the trick, what do you think? Would that work for you?

    8. Free Pizza with every submission

    Yes, yes, yes, I’m all in. What toppings? :smiley:

    Best regards,
    Adam

      Hi,

      Thanks for the fast reply. It’s always nice to know that my feedbacks are being read ^^.

      2. Okay. Great to here. Looking forward it.
      3. Thank you for the snippet. Looking forward it.
      4. It would be nice to be able to choose a template and then tweak it a bit more with some checkboxes

      Example:
      Design: Flat
      Input fields shape: dropdown: rounded/pill/square/custom border-radius
      Labels inside input fields: check
      Darkmode: check

      ( I’m sure you could come up with something yourself that is way better :p )

      5. Great!
      6. Awesome.
      7. Examples:
      https://kriesi.at/themes/enfold-2017/pages/contact/
      https://www.ekko-wp.com/pages/contact-creative/
      9. Thank you
      10. That would work for me, yup. It was actually what I intended to ask ^^.
      8. Not pineapple haha, but that’s an all other discussion.

      I hope my feedback helps. Some changes seem small, but I can imagine that it would make working with the plug-in easier for people who don’t know CSS. And even if you do know CSS it would make your workflow faster.

      Looking forward to all changes! If you need more, let me know haha.

      Hi Mukul,

      Thanks for your reply. I’m talking about the backgrounds of inputfields, backgrounds of errors and backgrounds of submission indicators ( all the stuff a form shows, visually, in the front-end besides text )

      I just checked and could not find a transparency-slider in Forminator Pro (take a look at the attached screenshot). If I’m not mistaken you do use it in the other WPMU DEV plug-ins or in other places.

      Maybe I’m overlooking something? That could be the case ^^.

    11. IMPORTANT
    The option to display buttons next to your inputfield. This should be possible by dragging/dropping.

    Again, very common in forms :p

    PS: Maybe one of the mods can change the title & first posts and gather all ideas? ( I’m not able to edit this myself :slight_frown: )

    Pagination for the Quiz/personality type questions with some transition options like a swipe.

    Ability to add shortcodes (such as Woocommerce shortcodes) to the Personality type Description fields so we can make product recommendations based on personality type.

    Hello!

    Jeroen

    12. Specify (it’s obvious for those who know) how to add classes here (screenshot).
    for example: “add commas in between classes”

    They actually shouldn’t be separated by commas, they’ll be printed out into source code exactly “as is” and when multiple classes are used for an element they are never separated. That’s just a sidenote, though, I understand that this is not the point here :slight_smile:

    I must say, though, that I’ve never came across any questions/doubts from anyone on how to add class names there (and in other similar options in our plugins). Is that really that unclear? Maybe, I’m thinking, we should just add examples there – to the main option description or to that small description under the field?

    Tim

    The good news is that yes, we are going to add pagination to quizzes. It’s already on a “to do” list for new features so it will be implemented in future :slight_smile:

    Ability to add shortcodes (such as Woocommerce shortcodes) to the Personality type Description fields so we can make product recommendations based on personality type.

    That’s a nice idea! I’ve pushed it to our developers but meanwhile let me share a simple workaround with you that should work “out of the box” with current Forminator :slight_smile:

    Add this code to the site as an MU plugin:

    <?php

    // shortcodes in quiz results

    function wpmu_forminator_quiz_rsults_shortcodes( $content ) {
    	return do_shortcode( $content );
    }

    add_filter( 'forminator_replace_quiz_form_data', 'wpmu_forminator_quiz_rsults_shortcodes', 10, 1 );

    – create an empty file with .php extension (e.g. “forminator-quiz-do-shortcodes.php”:wink:
    – copy and paste that code into it
    – save the file and upload it to the “/wp-content/mu-plugins” folder of your site’s WP install; if there’s no “mu-plugins” folder right in “wp-content” just create an empty one first.

    I’ve tested it, displaying most popular WooCommerce products in quiz results and it worked fine :slight_smile:

    Best regards,
    Adam
