[Forminator Pro] Create Post: require Title but optional Featured Image

3

When using Forminator Pro to create a new post, one must use the Post Data field. This allows one to request input of the Title, Content, Excerpt, Featured Image and more.

Unfortunately, there is no way to make each individual field optional/required, instead it is only possible to make the entire Post Data field optional/required.

I wish to make the input of a Title required, but to make the Featured Image upload optional. Is this possible?

I thought of adding multiple Post Data fields, one with only the Title enabled and marked as required, and a second with only the Featured Image enabled and marked as optional. Unfortunately, I get an error message when trying to save this second one that says: “At least one of the Title, Content, or Excerpt must be enabled for post data to be submitted” so this solution does not work.

    Hello Phil

I am sorry to hear you are having issues with Forminator. Indeed, at this moment, Forminator’s Post Data field is not very flexible with the requires fields configuration, and if you set the Post Data field as required, it’s necessary to fill all the fields of the Post Data field.

I am afraid there is no workaround to change that behavior. Something like this would require custom code, which is out of our support scope. But you can request an On-Demand Service so we can help with that:

Meanwhile, while this behavior is not a bug, I think it would be great if Forminator would implement better options for the Post Data field. I will change this ticket to a feature request one, and share your request with the developers so they can consider implement it in the future. I don’t have an ETA of when that will happen, tho.

    Kind regards,
    Jair.
