Getting a readability score 0 on all posts and pages

I’m getting a score of 0 on SmartCrawl’s Readability section on all the posts and pages. I tried deactivating all plugins and switching to Twenty Seventeen theme, but the issue is still there.

I’m using WPBakery builder to create the content, not sure if this could be related to the issue.

Also, I am getting a readability score, however the accuracy of it is questionable as the text on this page is short, readable and easily assimilated. The valuation score seem low and I am wondering if it is actually reading the Vis. Composer content rather than reading the [viscomposer] shortcode. Seems plausible that it is trying to read the [ ]

    Hello Glenn !

I’m getting into your post as a user with the same problem.

Just asked it as a feature (and I know I’m not the only one).

The issue is that SmartCrawl reads your raw content instead of the output of your content, which brings to something not readable.

(if I make a mistake on that, dear WPMUDEV team please forgive me and correct it)

I know I’m not bringing an answer but so far I know that the team is working on that, but we don’t have a date of release (which is ASAP I guess, like always in dev world ^^)

    Hi Glenn,

Hope you are doing good today.

We are having additional improvements down the plugin side in terms on how the plugin would behave in page builders, however I gave a quick test in my system to see how a readability score behaves with, and without Visual Composer, and the results were the same.

Maybe some specific module in the Visual Composer is causing this, or a conflict. I tried to access your website, but for some odd reason the website isn't loading in my side, also double checked with my colleague, and the result is same.

Am I missing anything? Could you please follow up once your site is back online, so that we could give a closer look at the configuration.

    Kind Regards,

    Nithin

    Hi xavier_lebrun4,

At the moment, I’m afraid, the plugin can only provide Readability Analysis score based on the English Language. So, if you are checking the score on other languages, the Readability Analysis won’t help much.

This is something which our developers would be improving in the plugin down the road.

Online web tools can have their own calculations, and they can differ from SmartCrawls algorithm. Seems like webfix provides results based on multiple readability indicators, while SmartCrawl on the other hand only test based on Flesch Reading Ease Readability Formula.

If you have any further query regarding this, or still have an issue, would highly recommend you to open a Live Chat with us, and we’ll make sure to help get you sorted. Have a nice day ahead.

    Regards,

    Nithin
