getting another blogs to appear as subdomain

I installed WP and made the necessary changes to enable multisite as per your instruction.

I intended for additional blogs to appear as subdomains. However, they are all appearing as subdirectories now. To complicate matters, I realise as well that I can setup subdomains in the cpanel.

Are they the same thing?

Have I messed up the wp and multisite installation?

If yes, do i have to reinstall wp again?

Thanks.

    Hi there Eric,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

I believe that it would be easier to delete the current install and re-install WordPress as a multisite, it is possible to change from sub directories to sub domains, but it’s not a very smooth process, and if you haven’t installed or started on the rest of the site, it make indeed be the easier option.

In your cPanel you can ignore the sub domains part there, as the sub domains are created from your wp-signup.php once multisite is set up

You must make sure though in your cPanel you must have a wildcard sub domain which is a *.yourmaindoamin.com

    Thank you!

    Kind Regards

    Jack.
