Google verification code appearing on top of content

Google and Bing verification codes are being displayed on the front-end, on top of the content of my site.

I tried deleting the code in SmartCrawl > Settings > Search Engines, but it keeps rebuilding.

I was first using Yoast SEO plugin and then switched to SmartCrawl, not sure if this could be related to this.

    Hi Chris,

    Hope you're doing well :slight_smile:

    In meta tag field you need to use full code that you get from google, like this for example:

    <meta name="google-site-verification" content="LM_htttGbSIExffb7fArtR4t1c9v8ZalOlk7b43fe-w" />

    When you go to Google Webmaster tools you can select HTML Tag and grab the code from there:

    [attachments are only viewable by logged-in members]

    Try adding it that way and it shouldn't be showing on your frontend anymore.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Best regards,

    Predrag

    Hi Predrag

    Thank you for the instructions. I am having an issue where I receive a WORDFence error when I try to update SmartCrawl. I don’t see wordfence installed as a plug-in so I don’t know what is causing the issue. Would it be my hosting platform?
