Help with MemberPress configuration

I would like your help to solve 2 MemberPress membership site configuration issues.

1. To protect pages based on a page or post tag. If a user is not logged in and visits a page with the tag "restricted-access" then a login dialog should appear. If the user logs in and has access, great, the page is displayed; if the user logs in and his membership does not allow access, then a message should say so.

2. I would like to add a link to the theme logo that appears on every page so that it links to the central home page that all memberships share. We use MemberPress short codes to hide/display content based on membership here. The issue is how to handle a user who clicks on the link and is logged in, but is not part of a membership. This happens when user accounts are added and there is a delay of minutes, hours, or days sometimes between registering the user and creating/finalizing the membership accounts and transactions.

I am sure you have other membership plugins, but this is the one we are using.

Looking forward to getting a hand with this config.

Thanks!

    Hello Will

I succesfully use Paid Memberships Pro since 2016 for all my memberships sites. This is their only product, they have a lot of add-ons that can connect their system with virtually anything that is a current WordPress standard (bbPress, BuddyPress, WooCommerce), and a lot more premium add-ons</em) to extend its resources to stellar levels.

Some key add-ons are free also on wordpress.org while the Premium add-ons will require one of their 2 Membership Plans, that you can check here. They’re also quite fast on solving bugs, it’s a well-stablished family-company (wich I find very healthy nowadays), despite having already a significant team of workers and contributors.

Giv’em a try with the Free Core Plugin (I’ve had the free version for more than 1 year before started being a Plus member), test their hability to help you solving in case you fall into any issues (if not, you’ll still have our beloved WPMU DEV Super Heroes to help you on solving all your WP issues), and you may find (as I did in 2016) that this is the ultimate memberships software for WordPress.

    Hope it helps you, cheers!

    Hi Will

    I hope you’re well today!

I’m not sure what you mean in your second question. Is that you want to use different link for those logged-in-but-not-members-users?

As for both questions: I’ll be more than happy to check possible options for your and see if that could be set up exactly the way you want it or at least “close to it” but I’m afraid I don’t have Memberpress plugin at hand and I don’t have access to it as it’s a 3rd-party premium plugin (no free version available as far as I’m aware).

That said, if you could e.g. grant me a support access to your site (might be a staging site where you got the plugin installed) so I could take a closer look I’ll happily check it for you. To enable support access you’d need to go to the “WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access” page in your site’s back-end (you need to have our WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin installed on the site and logged-in to your WPMU DEV account for this) and click on “Grant support access” button there, then let me know here.

    Best regards,

    Adam

        Hi Will

Adam, what is the best way to get your help with this issue?

Like I mentioned in my previous response. I’d need to be able to access the site to check possible options. I see that you have tried to enable support access to the site but, unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me.

I believe its because of the temporary API issues on our end, that we were experiencing yesterday and I’m sorry for that.

        That being said:

        1) Please go again to the “Network Admin -> WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access” page in your site’s back-end, revoke the Support access there and grant it again.

        2) Let me know here about the logo thing: is that you want to use different link for those logged-in-but-not-members-users?

I will then access the site and take a closer look to see what options are available and if they could be used to achieve what you want – and if so, how to do this – and let you know in my response here.

        Best regards,

        Adam
