[Hosting] Hosting in Australia

Hi team,
For data privacy and protection, we require for our clients websites to be hosted in Australia. Can you please let me know when you are expecting to have a hosting set up in Australia as I am definitely interested in switching clients from our current Linux managed VPS over to WPMU.

    Hi Megan ,

    Hosting locations depend on our hosting partner (Digital Ocean) and I’m afraid that they don’t have Australia as available hosting location and at the moment we don’t have any ETA on when it might become available.

    This is something that has been requested multiple times and as soon as our hosting partner makes it available we will include it in our offer as well.

    Thanks for your quick response Predrag.

    I’m going to be a little cheeky here. (an Aussie cultural requirement) Maybe you could send a marketing message out to the Australian segment of your database asking for support for Australian infrastructure, e.g. a basic survey? Real data showing how many people want to migrate to their service would help put pressure on them to make this happen.

    Maybe that could work, yeah :slight_smile: I’m afraid it’s not really for me to decide but I did “whisper a suggestion” to our Hosting team.

    On the other hand, given the fact that our own CEO (and main offices) is based in Melbourne, I’m pretty sure we’re already “pushing” them quite hard :slight_smile: I’ll keep my fingers crossed though and I really hope we’ll be able to add Australia soon!
