    Hi Tara,
Hope you are doing well. For sites hosted with us change the primary domain is really easy, just navigate into the Hub v2 [selectyousite] >> Hosting >> Domains, if you previously added your domain and verify the DNS and SSL status (get the green mark check) the option Set as primary will be enabled (kindly refer to the image) and you will able to set/change your domain as primary just selecting that option.

Thanks – I tried but it broke my email – I have hover email box – I reset everything and deleted the previous primary domain but there is no option to delete it from hosting – domains – the primary domain still shows

    CNAME
    localspace.wpmudev.host

    Hi tara

localspace.wpmudev.host is not your primary domain. It is temporary domain used to create this multisite installation. Primary domain for this multisite installation is http://www.christianspace.com which is marked with “checked sign” and the only domain that can’t be deleted is current primary domain.

In order to delete current primary domain, you would need to change it to something else (www.ozgazette.com for example) and delete it.

Hope this was helpful, let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Jovan

If you are not hosted on WPMUDEV, which I am guessing that you must be due to the other responses.

This would be what you need to do.

    1. https://wpengine.com/resources/change-domains-wordpress/

If you need to change the upload folder.

    https://www.thewordcracker.com/en-us/change-default-media-wordpress-uploads-folder-properly/

    OR

    https://whitefoxcreative.com/developers/solutions/wordpress-upload-path-options-table/

*You would have to have access to your MySQL databases for this!

everything is really broken now I thought is was ok to delete primary domain

Need to fix – If hosting has access to mysql I can make changes – can I back up my site to before I made changes to primary domain – ???? IF not I guess I can start over and – how to do that?

    Hello tara ,

I’ve checked your site and it looks like you have deleted it (instead of the domains added). This removed hosting and cancelled the subscription for that site.

Can you tell me if you migrated this from somewhere else? Will you need to restore the backup on that site?
If you will need to restore a backup from the deleted site, you will need to create it again with the same name localspace and the same region as before.
A list of your nightly backups will be available and you will be able to restore the last one.

I tried but it broke my email – I have hover email box

Can you tell me in which domain you are using this email? I can see that you have some domains added https://wpmudev.com/hub2/domains – if one of those domains should be using a different email provider, you will need to add MX record from that provider.

As for changing the domain to primary – there shouldn’t be a need for any changes in DB because it is automatically done.

    kind regards,
    Kasia
