How can I make the Classifieds be region-specific?

Hi. I’d like members to be able to add classifieds and select which regions they’d like their classified advertised in (eg. city and/orcountry)…so that users in the UK for instance can just search for Car ads in the UK.

What’s the best way to do that?

    thanks for the post.

    as it currently doesn’t support anything like that, you could maybe use customPress to create a custom select field which could be added to each form, you would need to add the list of regions to the custom field.

    However i’m not sure if filtering the content by that custom field is possible, you may need a custom template or query to offer that or some custom coding.

    or maybe use categories, 1 category per region.

    I will flag the developer to see if this is possible with custompress & still be able to filter by that custom field.

    Your best bet would be to make a second hierarchical taxonomy for Classifieds, location. Then you can predefine your regions at the parent level. Using the US as an example Fill the taxonomy with a list of States. The in each state you scould add counties as children of the States, or Cities depending on the granularity you want.

    Assosciat the taxonomy with classifieds and it will show up on the edit page for a classified
