How Do I remove the Menu Navigation for "Categories"

I want to remove the default navigation item “Categories” from my site’s top navigation. How do I do that?

Have you tried to create a custom menu via the WP Admin Dashboard » Appearance » Menus? By creating a custom menu you would remove the word ‘Categories’ without editing code.

Let me know if this solution can work for you. If not, we can look at editing the code.

This option does don’t work the the Scholar theme. Looks like you will have to edit the code. Let me know.

Open this file:

/bp-scholar/header.php

And remove or comment out this line:

```
Its around line number 148.

That should remove the categories.

I commented out the code you mentioned but the Categories menu is still showing up. Can you still help with this issue?

If you’ve got BuddyPress activated the change needs to be made in:

bp-scholar/includes/main-navigation.php

Comment out or remove lines 9-22.
