How to Make Site Zoom out to Fit Browser Width

Hi,

I have a question regarding custom theme development.

I’m working with a custom wordpress theme, which is responsive. I am going to turn off responsive layout, because I don’t like how responsive layout pushes the sidebar under the content in narrow screens. (I have a web design that requires sidebar to be next to content, not under it.)

Instead, I want to have the whole site (including font size, everything) scales down/ gets smaller/zoom out as browser width decreases.

Could you please advise on how to make the whole site zoom out in relation to the browser width?

Mobile brower apps seem to already do this on their own, but computer browsers don’t do it.

I’d appreciate any help with this,

Thank you so much in advance,

Love,

Jeanette

Hello there @Jeanette, I hope you’re well today!

I’m afraid I don’t quite understand what you want to do…

Do you mean that you want your site to be fluid? ie take up the full width of the browser?

Could you please post a link to your website so that we may see your current theme in action?

    Please advise,

    Ari.

    Hi Ari,

Thank you so much for your help!

Sorry I was confusing, let me illustrate what I want to do..:

Image 01 is what the site looks like on my computer screen.

Image 02 is what the site looks like when I decrease the browser's width to half (50%)

Image 03 is what I want to achieve, which is the site zoomed out 50%.

Basically, I want the whole site to show, even when the screen is narrow..

    Is this possible at all?

    Please let me know,

    Thanks,

    Love,

    Jeanette
