I get error messages, front and back, when MarketPress

I get error messages, front and back, when MarketPress is enabled. The site doesn’t work at all. I’ve reinstalled it, updated everything, disables all plugins, changed to default theme. Nothing more I can think of to try. It was working but quit working all by itself, we changed nothing. Please advise?

    I can confirm issue on your site but not able to replicate on my end.

    Dear member there can be problem with corrupt installation or something. Would you mind to install plugin via ftp ?

    You’ll need copy of Marketpress available on your local system to install it via ftp. You can grab your copy from its product usage page here,

    [Note: During testing on your site, I’ve activated Marketpress and its starting showing error you mentioned please remove plugin it via ftp or just change its directory name to deactivate it ]

    No luck. I used FTP to upload a fresh MarketPress installation. The site breaks just by its being present, even before I activate it. I have now renamed that directory, and the site works again (only not with my theme and not with any plugins active) but the renamed MP directory remains in place.

    Hope you are doing well. :slight_smile:

    It seems to me that you are may have been using older version of php. Could you please check your php version ? if its older than 5.2 then please upgrade to 5.2+. Latest marketpress requires php version 5.2+ to work well.

    Hi @chuckupd,

    Can you please double check PHP version with your host, this issue is mostly related to the PHP version and when I visit your site under WPMU DEV > Support > System Info tab it actually shows that you are running 5.2.17

    Hi @chuckupd,

    Some hosts allow you to select which PHP version you want to use, on my hosting I have around 7 different PHP versions to choose from, starting at PHP 4 and ending with PHP 7, it’s possible that HostGator has 5.2.17 set as default version.
