I’m trying to figure out how to hack the youtube module to add the string <!–more–> BEFORE the youtube URL gets inserted. Everything that I try results in various errors. The reason that I am trying to do this is because I have added a plugin for automatically generating thumbnails that get inserted into the post preview image. I’m trying to cut down on page load from posting a lot of youtube videos.

    Hi @Petar

    Welcome to the forums!

Manually adding it to each imported video works just fine, but that’s probably not what you want.

And setting the feed the use the excerpt instead of the content doesn’t produce satisfactory results, even if the word-count is set as low as 1.

I took a quick look through the code but it’s a bit beyond the scope of the support that we can offer here.

We do try to help and will respond regardless if we know the answer to your question. Unfortunately I don’t know the answer, sorry

You may want to consider hiring a developer for this via our jobs board: https://wpmudev.com/wpmu-jobs/

Or perhaps try a service like Tweaky: https://www.tweaky.com/

Or maybe another member would like to chime in here to provide some insight.
